Call My Agent! also known as Dix Pour Cent in French is a French dramedy television series created by Fanny Herrero which premiered on October 14, 2015, on France 2. This show has four seasons in total with 24 episodes overall. The fourth season which aired on October 21, 2020, was originally the last season of the series, and fans were saddened by the news but back in April 2021, it was announced that the Parisian Talent Agency is coming back and of course, fans couldn’t be more delighted. Here’s what we know so far:
Call My Agent! returning for a fifth season?
Yes, the French dramedy is returning for a fifth season. The fourth season was supposed to be the final outing of the series but the show’s immense success after airing on Netflix made the showrunners change their minds. Several months ago, the head of Call My Agent’s franchise, Thomas Anargyros, confirmed that the show is indeed coming back for a fifth season along with a movie.
“In development,” Mediawan Studios CEO Thomas Anargyros revealed on the Call My Agent season 5 premiere!
Seems like Call My Agent Season 5 is on its way—however, the cast and producers have not announced anything as of September 29, 2023. In May 2023, Mediawan Studios CEO Thomas Anargyros told French radio station Europe 1 that Call My Agent was “in development” and “aiming to air it in 2023.”
Call My Agent’s spin-off film was announced in July 2023; so we can expect the film to be released in France in late 2023 or early 2024. Mediawan Studios’ development of a new Call My Agent season and a spin-off shows their commitment. Netflix is expected to renew Call My Agent for another season because it’s one of its most successful international shows. We will keep you informed—please stay connected with us until then!
Call My Agent! Season 5 Release Date: When will it arrive?
In an interview with Thomas Anargyros via Culture Medias, he revealed that the show is presently in development and would return with the 90-minute long movie first followed by the fifth season of Call My Agent! The film is expected to arrive in France “probably at the end of the year or the beginning of next year” which means the fifth season won’t be out till the end of 2023 or early 2024.
According to Variety, Filming on the fifth installment will commence once the film is completed, with the upcoming fifth season episodes currently in the early stage of development at France Televisions. However, showrunner Dominique Besnehard disclosed that work on the fifth installment won’t begin “immediately” and that it may take “a few years” until it finally hits our screens.
The cast
As per reports by Variety, several of the major cast is anticipated to return for the movie, including some French actors and some American actors along with Camille Cottin who plays Andrea Martel as the primary focus.
We’ll most likely see some of the old faces return including Thibault de Montalembert (as Mathias Barneville), Grégory Montel (as Gabriel Sarda), Liliane Rovère (as Arlette Azémar), Fanny Sidney (as Camille Valentini), Laure Calamy (as Noémie Leclerc), Nicolas Maury (as Hervé André-Jezak), Stéfi Celma (as Sofia Leprince) and Assaad Bouab (as Hicham Janowski).
What happened at the end of Call My Agent season 4?
Call My Agent Season 4 continues with the ASK agency trying to survive. Andréa (Camille Cottin) leads the agency after Mathias (Thibault de Montalembert) left to make movies. Andréa is trying to balance her new work as a managing partner with her personal life, which is exacerbated by her kid. She must also satisfy her celebrity clients, including Cécile de France (playing herself) and Juliette Binoche.
Gabriel (Grégory Montel) still loves Sofia (Ophélia Kolb), a successful actress. Noémie (Laure Calamy) tries to fit in at the agency, while Arlette (Liliane Rovère) is still manipulating. ASK agents face many hurdles this season, including:
- An aggressive new competitor aiming to steal clients.
- Digital era demands are transforming the entertainment sector.
- Their customers’ issues often affect their work.
- Despite many obstacles, ASK agents keep the agency afloat. Along the road, they discover much about themselves and each other.
Call My Agent’s fourth season was lauded for its emotional depth, realistic entertainment industry portrayal, and stellar acting. Its openness to discuss sexism, ageism, and mental health was also lauded. Please stay connected with us for further updates!
Call My Agent! Season 5: The Plot
Plot details for the fifth season are not available at the moment but the team behind the Call My Agent! show dropped some details about the upcoming season.
The next season is set to pick up where the fourth season left off and will center on Andrea Martel. Besnehard also disclosed that he wishes to film some of the scenes in New York City.
He explained, “For the moment we are going to do a [film], that we are starting to write and which, I hope, will take place in New York. Because all American actors, unpretentious, want to be there.”
Fans will recollect that Andrea formerly considered shifting to New York to seek a career opportunity there, and she had intended to take Camille with her as an attendant.
It’s not known how the movie will pick up with the characters. Probably the movie and the fifth season will focus on Camille’s new agency. That’s all we have for now.
Call The Agent! Movie is Coming Out Soon!
Harold Valentin at Mother Production company, who creates the series, disclosed to Variety: “This show is about a family, not a biological one, but one that formed in a professional environment and got stronger together through ups and downs, so of course we want to reunite this family.”
The movie was initially scheduled to begin filming in early 2022, followed by the series’ fifth season but during that time some of cast and crew were busy with other projects.
So if all the required cast memes are ready for production then hopefully a Call My Agent! film would be out by the end of 2022, with the fifth most likely to release sometime in 2023.
However, there has been no update whether projection for the movie has started or if it has finished but it’s most likely that it has wrapped and if that’s the case, we couldn’t be happier.
We’ll keep this post updated over time with new information and official announcements on Call My Agent Season 5. Stay tuned for more!
