Philippa Lowthorpe’s upcoming project is a feature film titled as ‘H is for Hawk’ which is rumored to star Claire Foy and Brendan Gleeson. Being a known director, Philippa Lowthorpe is popular for the work she has done in ‘The Crown’ a drama based on history, ‘Misbehaviour’ which premiered in 2020, ‘Three Girls’ a mini series and ‘Jamaica Inn’ which premiered in 2014, to name a few. Additionally, Philippa Lowthorpe is also a recipient of numerous accolades. Seeing as how the last work of Philippa Lowthorpe was ‘Willow’ which premiered in 2022, this upcoming feature film is a much awaited one. Also, the film is rumored to be based on Helen Macdonald’s memoir with the same name. Helen Macdonald is a known writer whose other works include ‘Vesper Flights’ which was published in 2020 and ‘Recovery: Vintage Minis’ which was published in 2019. The upcoming feature film is said to have Emma Donoghue joining its crew as the writer.
A Closer Look at the Cast for ‘H is for Hawk’
The original memoir titled ‘H for Hawk’ was supposedly based on the events from the author’s real life and is seemingly in the mode of a personal narration. Hence, it is possible that the upcoming film will have a limited cast. The film which is reportedly a production under Lena Headey with companies Film4 and Protagonist Pictures taking up its development, the film will soon enter its pre- production stage.
The roles that Claire Foy and Brendan Gleeson are said to be in talks for is not yet known but there is a good chance that their characters would be pivotal to the total storyline. Claire Foy has previously starred in ‘The Crown’ in the role of ‘Queen Elizabeth II’. Brendan Gleeson recently starred in ‘A Greyhound of a Girl’ an animated family drama in which he vocally portrayed Paddy.
