Black Summer Season 3: Release Date, Cast & Plot
Black Summer is an apocalyptic fiction series created by Karl Schaefer and John Hyams. It made its debut in April 2019 on Netflix and was further renewed for a second installment in November 2021. Following the premiere of its second part in June 2021, fans are awaiting its next chapter. Unfortunately, the showrunners have not made any official announcement of Black Summer Season 3 yet, still, there are speculations that it would be out in late 2021. So, here comes the question, “What does the third season of Black Summer have in store for its fans?” Here’s everything we know about it so far
Black Summer Season 3: Release date
Netflix decided to sign the deal for the third part of Black Summer. The streaming giant is infamously known for making decisions about the fate of any series after taking into account its viewership numbers, sales, ratings, and reviews. Since the series’ second season did well, the streamer officially gave the green light for another season run.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the third season of Black Summer and as of May 2022, Netflix has formally declared that the new season is finally arriving on June 16, 2022.
Black Summer Season 3: Plot details
Season two of Black Summer witnessed more deaths than survivors. Ross has met a near-death encounter and it is difficult to anticipate whether she would survive the severe injuries or not. Following the events of the previous season, Anna will presumably take the center stage. She has to find a safe place to take her mother while learning to fight her own battles in her mother’s absence. Besides, Kyungsun is the only person who managed to escape. In season 2, we finally witness her meeting someone, the pilot who speaks and understands her language. The role of Kyungsun throws light on the refugee issues in North America. It is a safe bet to assume that the next season would delve deeper into this character’s story. Nazeri is another survivor but his part in the upcoming season is still in the dark. Stay tuned for more.
Black Summer Season 3: Cast
The survivors of Black Summer Season 2 would return to their past roles. Zoe Marlett will appear as Anna, Ross’s daughter in the series and Christine Lee will be the Kyungsun in the third season. Sadly, Justin Chu Cary’s journey ( Julius James) ended with the previous season. So, the audience would not see him again. There is a slim chance of Jaime King making a comeback as Ross. Ray Nazeri ( Bobby Naderi) is likely to join the cast alongside Bechir Sylvain (Braithwaite). You may also see new additions to the cast but their roles are not disclosed yet.
Black Summer Season 1 and 2 are now streaming on Netflix. Until we wait patiently for Season three, fans can always binge-watch its previous seasons on the streaming platform. Watch this space for more.
What to expect from Season 3 of Black Summer?
We gotta say there are a lot of things going to happen in the much-awaited next season of Black Summer.
Talking to Express.co.uk, lead star Jamie King (Rose) described every detail of what she thought of the show continuing forward.
“I have a few ideas,” King illustrated, “I’m excited to get the writer’s room going again.
“This is the kind of series that could go on forever, but I think it would be really powerful to do it in just three seasons, if possible,” she told the outlet.
“What do you do when there are no more commodities left? Exploring that idea.”
King’s notion would work out literally quite well after the aftermath of the second season, as there are only a few people with very few resources.
The actress further shared more of her ideas while in a conversation with Comic Book.
“I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this. Hypothetically speaking, I would center it on different chapters, where we explore three central figures in different places,” King explained. “But that’s just — I don’t know, sketches.”

It has been announced the third season of the hit zombie series Black Summer is what I’ve been hearing through rumors. Eagerly waiting!
The series has been starring Jaime King as a mother searching for her daughter in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies which is such a highly developed pot that makes me love it more!
Black Summer Season 3 could be one of the most highly anticipated series and show one could’ve ever experienced, enjoyed, and loved at the same time.
As set in a post-apocalyptic world, Black Summer revolves around two survivors, Abby and Mark who compile together to be our most beloved duo of all time!
It feels sad for the characters of the show as both are suffering from PTSD due to their encounter with the undead.
Abby has made up her mind to venture out into this dangerous world and according to me I’m totally towards his side around the whole series!
Mark wants to stay safe inside their bunker, and what I think is that this might be a very good survival tactic for him and that it results in something good but hands up, we can’t say!
But when one of them gets bitten by an infected, it’s gonna be too much frightening and we viewers are not ready for that ughh…!

This is your last chance to survive the Black Summer.
Your new favorite show is Black Summer and so is mine!
👀Black summer is so good, you might never see the end of the world.
