Netflix’s ‘Barbarians’ which is a German historical drama series gained huge popularity and shook the audience as it became one of the most-watched original series that came out in 2020.
Those who have watched the first season have been eagerly awaiting the next season and we couldn’t be happier to learn the great news! Yes, Netflix has officially renewed the series for a second run. After the series aired, it didn’t take even a month for Netflix to confirm the renewal status.

Barbarians Season 2 Release Date: When Is It Premiering on Netflix?
An official release date is yet to be announced. However, it was confirmed that new episodes are scheduled to arrive somewhere in the Autumn or Winter of 2022.
Who Are The Cast Returning In The Second Season Of Barbarians?
The cast members confirmed to be reprising their roles in the upcoming includes–
- Laurence Rupp in the role of Arminius.
- Jeanne Goursaud will return as Thusnelda.
- David Schutter will reprise his role as Folkwin Wolfspeer.
- Daniel Donskoy will be playing Flavus.
- Bernhard Schütz will portray Segestes.
Additionally, new faces will be introduced to the viewers in season 2 of Barbarians which includes–
- Robert Maaser will portray Odvulf.
- Murathan Muslu will play Maroboduus, the King of Marcommani and also the antagonist/ villain in season
- Andrea Garofalo will be portraying Aulus.
The other cast addition is showrunner Stefan Ruzowitzky who is also set to star in the upcoming season joining him are Katharina Heyer, Cynthia Micas, Alessandro Fella, Giovanni Carta, and Gabriele Rizzoli. Although their roles are yet to be revealed.

“A year after the Varus Battle, the Roman troops have returned to Germania, stronger than ever, and Ari is once again confronted with his Roman past. His brother has joined the Roman side to punish Ari for his betrayal of Rome. While Thusnelda and Ari try to unite the tribes against Rome, Folkwin makes a sinister challenge to the gods.”
