This upcoming series is set in the 80s amidst the Berlin Wall coming down, the Soviet Empire’s crumbling, and the US’s recovery from recession. The mood is bleak but for two estranged mobster brothers, fate has never been luckier as they rise in the criminal circles in Western Europe. However, unbeknownst to everyone in the criminal circle, one of the brothers is an FBI agent. Prepare for a power packed plot brimming with intricacies of corruption in the Underworld of Europe in the 80s for this upcoming feature that is reportedly being developed under Puma in a Tank, a production company. Puma in a Tank is a relatively new production company under Oleg Shardin and Alex Lane. Additionally, Abacus Media Rights, will be partaking in the development of this upcoming series that is to be titled as ‘Thieves in Law’.
Currently, being under development, the series is showrunner Gábor Krigler’s very own with Uli Edel joining the crew as the director for ‘Thieves in Law’. Gábor Krigler is primarily known as a screenwriter and his works include, ‘Aranyélet’ which premiered in 2015 in Hungary and is a drama centered around law and crime, ‘Terápia’ a series that premiered in 2012 and ran for 5 seasons. Uli Edel is a known filmmaker whose popular works include, ‘Der Baader Meinhof Komplex’ which premiered in 2008, ‘Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King’ which starred Benno Fürmann, Kristanna Loken, Alicia Witt and more, ‘Last Exit to Brooklyn’ which premiered in 1989 as a drama thriller and ‘The Little Vampire’ a fantasy film.
Alex Lane and Josh Berman to Compose the Screenplay for ‘Thieves in Law’
Alex Lane and Josh Berman will be joining the crew for the upcoming series as its writers. Alex Lane is known as a writer/ actor while Josh Berman is another emerging artist. Some of the works of Josh Berman include, ‘Vanished’ which premiered in 2006, ‘The Mob Doctor’ which premiered on Fox, ‘Notorious’ a drama and more. Joining the two artists in the crew are producers Oleg Shardin, Darrell Blocker, Sanford R. Climan, Barnabás Hutlassa, David Harris Kline, Alain Lallemand, Vasiliy Lantsov, Joachim Laqueur and Igor Shardin. Darrell Blocker is an emerging producer. Sanford R. Climan is the founder and President of Entertainment Media Ventures. Barnabás Hutlassa has previously worked in ‘The Whiskey Bandit’ and Gábor Krigler’s ‘Aranyélet’. David Harris Kline, Alain Lallemand, Vasiliy Lantsov, Joachim Laqueur and Igor Shardin are other surfacing producers. With a set crew, the filming for ‘Thieves in Law’ is predicted to commence soon.
