23 Jump Street Release Date: Is It Happening?
Currently, it’s unclear if ‘23 Jump Street’ will happen or not. As per speculations, it appears that ‘23 Jump Street’ is not in the works but instead ‘24 Jump Street’ was greenlit. In July 2021, Rodney Rothman in an interview with Hollywood Reporter revealed that he’s been chosen to write and direct the forthcoming sequel, which is ‘24 Jump Street.’
He was asked why the title was changed to which he replied: “It’s taken us so long to pull together we decided to skip over ’23 Jump Street’ and pick up the story one movie later.” Rothman worked on “Spider-Verse” with “Jump Street” co-director Phil Lord, so it seems like a great combination of talent and movie.”
With that said, the much-awaited sequel will likely be out by the end of 2022 or sometime in 2023. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether it’ll be ‘23 Jump Street or ‘24 Jump Street.’ Further announcements are yet to be provided so let’s wait patiently.
What Can We Expect From The Upcoming Sequel?
Not much is revealed about the upcoming sequel but we do know that Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will reprise their roles as Morton Schmidt and Greg Jenko respectively.
Previously Tatum also revealed that he wants to onboard Brad Pitt in the third sequel. He explained: “Brad [Pitt] in this movie [The Lost City] is hilarious. If we ever do Jump Street 3, we have to — I’m telling you, he’s comic gold if you put him with the right character.” We couldn’t agree more, I mean who wouldn’t want to see Brad Pitt right? If Pitt were to star in the third movie, the storyline would give the audience a whole more different vibe.
We’ll update this post as soon as we hear any updates regarding the release date of Jump Street 3. Stay Tuned!
