The Avengers franchise has been taking over the world by storm and is one of the most successful movies out there. With Avengers 5 on the horizon, Marvel fans are excited to see what the fifth Avengers has in store for them.
Although fans are hyped to see Avengers 5, it’s very much unlikely that several of the original characters will return in the highly anticipated movie after the events of the 2019 Avengers: Endgame.
Coming back to the Avengers 5 or soon to be announced phase 5, Marvel boss Kevin Feige previously updated indicating that the film may already be in development.
Speaking to Collider about the prospect of the Marvel Comics Universe and its recent releases Shang-Chi & The Legend of the Ten Rings, Kevin Feige revealed when fans could foresee the following team-ups in Avengers 5. He said, “We want there to be a reasonable amount of time from the Endgame to start a new saga, which is already underway and already started. Then you need some time as we did in phase one to build that saga before you start bringing everybody together.”
With that said, the movie is happening and we can not wait for the movie to hit the screens though it’ll take a while. Here’s what we know about the upcoming movie release date, cast, and plot.
Avengers 5 Release Date: When Can We See it?
Sadly, there is no official release date for Avengers 5 and currently, Marvel has a long list of movies to be released soon and for some, filming is still yet to be done.
Henceforth, fans shouldn’t expect the movie to arrive by 2023 since there are lots for Marvel to take care of first. If we have to take a guess, the Avengers 5 movie will likely arrive in early 2024.
The Cast of Avengers 5: Who Will Be In It?
The cast members for Avengers 5 are not confirmed yet and it’s difficult to say which characters will come back in the upcoming Avengers movie. But one thing for sure is that we’ll get to see a whole new set of characters. We’re sad that we won’t get to see Iron Man who died in the Avengers: Endgame and as for the Black Widow, Captain America, and Hawkeye, they’ve retired so there you go, they won’t be returning either or they might, we never know.
According to Scarlett Johansson via Vanity Fair, she talked about what it feels like to leave the team to which she said, “There’s a gain that comes with that for each one of us. It’s very surreal for me to watch these new cast members come in and get their feet wet and breathe new life into these characters who are so iconic. I feel good about the work we’ve done and the work I’ve done.”
On the set of Avengers: Endgame, RDJ exclaimed, “the inevitable end to it all” also hinting that it’s time for new generation heroes to rise.
The ones remaining are Hulk, Thor, Ant-Man, Falcon (the newly appointed Captain America), Wasp, Scarlet Witch, Winter Soldier, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Shang-Chi.
Meanwhile, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel have also joined the MCU in the forthcoming Disney Plus series but it’s not known if they’ll appear in Avengers 5.
Avengers 5 Plot: Expectations
Plot details are unknown for now but producer Nate Moore has dropped hints on what could happen or expect in Avengers 5. We’re in it for a surprise that’s for sure.
In early 2020, Nate Moore was asked if Avengers 5 would be another Endgame, he explained: “I think you can, or you can not, you know what I mean?” Moore said. “And I think, Avengers 4 was called Endgame for a reason. We haven’t really talked in a real way about what an Avengers 5 would be even.”
He added, “I think we can have it either way if we want, we could build towards it, or we could just say, ‘Hey, here’s a standalone Avengers movie.’ And I think as long as the story was strong and interesting enough, people will come and see it. We’re kind of nerds, so we like to build towards things, and we like to spread bread crumbs and see where they come… But yeah, and I think audiences also kind of want to be surprised. So, to some degree, we don’t want to say, ‘You saw that trick, let’s do that trick again.’ What’s the new way to surprise people if, and when we did an Avengers movie, what would be the funniest version of that?”
He then went on to explain that there’s more to the Endgame. Moore explained, “Do you go the opposite and make the stakes really personal and small because what’s bigger than Endgame? You know what I mean? How do we make the stakes bigger than that?” The universe is going to collapse? I don’t know. Or is it there another way where, ‘Oh, here’s a really clever Mission: Impossible-style Avengers movie that gets to be smaller. Again, all ideas we can play with, but I do feel like the door’s a bit open, and audiences will be kind of game to follow us.”
While Nate Moore didn’t reveal any important details he implied that anything can happen in Avengers 5.
