If you’re into Mythical beings, I’m sure you’ll love this series. The show has been very popular among viewers since it first came out and for those who have been eagerly waiting for season 4, we have good news for you, the fourth instalment has been officially renewed. To find out more here’s what we know.

Are we getting a Siren season 4?

As per speculations, Freeform Network have given the green signal for Siren season 4 and its initial release date was slated for November 2021 but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the already set release date had to be pushed back. The current release date for Siren season 4 has been now set on September 22, 2022. However, this is all just based on speculations and has not been confirmed by either the showrunner or the network.

To be precise, it was reported that on August 2020 FreeForm canceled the series for the season 4 as production kept on delaying because of the pandemic but thanks to the creators for their unending effort for making season 4 happen. Henceforth, siren season 3 was the final season of the series and there won’t be a fourth season although we were kind of looking forward it.

What the cast has said about Siren Season 4 cancellation

The “Siren” cast has largely remained silent regarding the show’s conclusion and any possible future it may have.

As word of the cancellation spread throughout Hollywood, many of the big names kept their opinions to themselves, but not Ryn Fisher’s actress Eline Powell.

Fans expressed their ardent affection for “Siren” on Instagram after they discovered the show had come to an end. She pondered, “It’s the end of a true blissful journey,” beneath the first picture of herself ever taken on the set of the show.

“I’m really grateful and at peace that I get to portray Ryn. I will always treasure the ride. The fans of the sirens, of course. I’m grateful. You made it the finest of all, so thank you. If you enjoyed our presentation, keep swimming, respect the water, and be accepting of people who are different from you in terms of how they live, think, and appear. Above all, that’s what Ryn taught me.”

It’s interesting to note that Powell voiced interest in a possible Season 4 well in advance of the cancellation of the show-making news. She stated on Instagram on December 19, 2019: “LOVE y’all and hope to see ya for a #season4 in 2020!” Powell is now the only cast member and staff member of “Siren” to express interest in a potential Season 4 publicly. Let’s see what happens next!

Siren Season 4 Plot

The third season was terrific although there’s scant detail for the upcoming plot. But since season 4 is canceled, there’s nothing much to say about it. On the off chance, if the series is picked up another streaming platform, we can expect the storyline of season 4 to  continue from where the third  season left off.

In the season finale episode, we witnessed that the story mainly focused on saving Hope and the mermaid community where Tia tried to wipe them away. But with Ryn and her bigger Army, Tia didn’t stand a chance and she ended up being killed while Ben managed to save Hope and brought her to safety.

Season 4 will most likely show us about Ben’s past and the answers we’ve all been waiting for and hopefully we get to see more of the trio and how they try to manage various situations.

As of September 2022, we haven’t heard anything about the renewal of the fourth instalment of Siren. Thus, no announcement regarding the trailer of Siren’s upcoming season has been released so far. Where to Watch Siren Series 1, 2 & 3?

All three seasons of Siren are currently available for streaming on Hulu.

Siren Canceled – No Season 4 for The Mystery Drama Series

Sadly, Siren has been officially axed by USA Network Freeform. The series ran from March 19, 2018, to May 28, 2020. Siren spawned a total of three successful seasons and an overall 36 episodes. It was declared openly that season three of Siren was the final season. Hence, a fourth season will not happen in the future although many fans were disappointed to learn that their favorite show is over for good.

Eline Powell confirms Siren Season 4 is cancelled

Why Did Freeform Cancel Siren Season 4?

Created by Eric Wale and Dean White, Siren, a mermaid fantasy TV series has been canceled. Although it was a fan-favorite TV show, it reached its saturation point. The issue with these fantasy shows is that it cannot be stretched much long as after a certain time, the plot gets monotonous.

Siren had a decent viewership and curious fans, but the makers have officially canceled the series. And so, there won’t be a season 4 to answer the cliffhanger that ends from season 3. The third season took off when the world was shut down. The pandemic made it a tough situation for the show to come back on its feet.

The makers also clarified that the show could not find a convincing storyline for the next season. And until the third season, things fitted in pretty well – so, it was only stupid to stretch the plot without it making much sense.

The Siren mermaids will probably come back for fresh appearances but you can definitely visit them for their previous seasons are available to stream on Freeform. Happy watching!

As it stands, Siren has ended after airing for three seasons. According to reports, the series has been officially discontinued after season 3. Hence, a fourth season of the much-anticipated series will not be produced despite being one of the most successful series on Freeform. (Updated     3/4/2023)

What is the petition to save Siren season 4 about?

According to change.org, fans of Siren started a petition to save the show after Freeform announced its cancellation after three seasons. The petition was created to urge the network to renew the show for a fourth season. The petition was created because the show had a decent viewership and a loyal fan base. However, as of now, there is no official confirmation about the status of the show or whether the petition was successful.

What is the storyline of the series Siren?

Bristol Cove, Washington, a coastal community with long-standing lore of mermaids and mermen, is turned upside down when a mysterious young woman (Eline Powell) shows up and starts wreaking havoc on the sleepy fishing community in an effort to find her older sister (Sibongile Mlambo), who was kidnapped by the local military.

Together, marine biologists Maddie (Fola Evans-Akingbola) and Ben (Alex Roe) try to determine what or who brought this ancient deep-sea hunter to land.

Due to water contamination in the area and noise from the oil rig, more merpeople began to show up in Bristol Cove around Season 2. Additionally, Ryn’s mermaid stem cells are gradually reversing Pownall’s paralysis.

The mermaid Tia (Tiffany Lonsdale), who wants to force all merpeople tribes and colonies to join her in her fight to exterminate humanity, is a threat to Ben, Maddie, and Ryn in Season Three, and Ryn’s daughter, who was carried by a surrogate, needs to be safeguarded at all means.

To add fuel to the fire, Ted Pownall has admitted that merpeople exist and appears to be headed down a perilous path, much like his great-great-great-grandfather had.

Siren Ratings: How well has the show been rated?

The TV series Siren has received an impeccable response, receiving an IMDb rating of 7 out of 10. On Rotten Tomatoes, the show secured a 95% Tomatometer rating, while on Common Sense Media, the show holds a 4 out of 5 rating.

Siren season 4 filming locations: The real Bristol Cove

With Ryn (Eline Powell), a young girl who reveals a reality that no one, or virtually no one, has ever accepted, arriving in the city, the seaside hamlet of Bristol Cove—famous for its local mermaid legends—was rattled by some unusual incidents.

The mermaids in the series are frighteningly beautiful. They are mighty creatures that can change from bipedal to four-legged when they come into contact with water. There will be a lot more of them in Season 3! The following locations were used for the entire Siren TV series filming:

  • Port Moody, British Columbia, Canada
  • Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
  • Steveston, Richmond, British Columbia, Canada
  • Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
  • Vancouver Film Studios, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

What fans hoped to see in Siren season four:

After three seasons, the show Siren was canceled by Freeform in August 2020. Although there have been rumors of a possible renewal, nothing is official as of yet. Fans were disappointed by the ending of the show because they had hoped for a fourth season to provide some closure to some of the show’s unresolved issues. A number of stories that would have been explored in later seasons of the show were also alluded to by its creators.

Currently, it appears that the series Siren is over. The show’s devoted audience is still rooting for a renewal, though. A new season of the show might be picked up by Freeform or another network if there is significant public demand for it. The following are some of the things Siren fans would like to see in a potential fourth season:

  • Revealing Ryn’s father and his part in the struggle between mermaids and humans.
  • What happens to Ryn’s child?
  • How Ben and Ryn’s relationship is progressing.
  • The investigation of mermaid myth.
  • The debut of fresh mermaid figures.

If Siren will be renewed for a potential fourth season, only time shall tell what happens next. Fans can still watch the show’s three seasons right now on streaming platforms like Hulu and Peacock, though.
