A new Resident Evil film titled “RESIDENT EVIL: THE UMBRELLA CHRONICLES” is reportedly in active development, according to exclusive news from geekvibenation. The movie is said to be a reboot of the franchise and plot details are scarce at this time. The title is the same as a 2007 video game that followed two characters, Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen, as they venture through a train and a derelict training facility while being stalked by James Marcus, co-founder of the Umbrella Corporation. The movie is set to be produced by Paul W.S. Anderson, who directed four of the previous Resident Evil films. No director has been attached to the project yet. The Resident Evil franchise has grossed over $1.3 billion at the box office, and with the continued interest in the video games, it is no surprise that a new film is in development.
