Outer Banks is an ensemble adolescent drama that made its Netflix premiere back in April 2020. The storyline centers on a gang of teens from Pogue who have spent the previous three seasons looking for treasure. Not to mention, season three of “Outer Banks” was a huge success and received an early renewal for a fourth season.

Will there be a season 5 of Outer Banks?

As of yet, Netflix is yet to renew season 5 of Outer Banks. According to Netflix, the fourth season is happening for sure and it is officially shown greenlit, but the fifth season still not a go.

The decision to renew Outer Banks season 4 came as part of a live event Netflix organized dubbed “Poguelandia: An Outer Banks Experience” on February 18. It happened a week or so before the start of the new season.

The continuation of Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke in their respective capacities as co-creators, showrunners, and executive producers for season 4 was also confirmed.

During the ceremony, they stated to the media in which they stated:

“Nothing short of miraculous could describe watching Poguelandia come to life. As the joyride continues in Outer Banks season four, we get to plot out more turns and turns for The Pogues as they experience a once-in-a-lifetime journey. We are grateful to Netflix, our cast, and the incredible fans that made this possible.”

Outer Banks’ fourth season has been formally renewed, however, the show’s creators have not yet provided any details about Outer Banks season 5. After the conclusion of season 4, the fifth season of Outer Banks will begin airing.

When can we expect Outer Banks season 5 release date?

Given the extended production timetable, ‘Outer Banks’ season 5 on Netflix could not debut before the end of 2025. Considering production for the fourth season may wrap up between 15-18 months, the planned premiere would take place between May and August 2024, according to this.
