Marvel Studios has once again redefined the superhero genre with a groundbreaking livestream that began on March 26, 2025, at 11:00 PM ET, unveiling the cast for the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday. Billed as an announcement “bigger than RDJ’s return as Doctor Doom,” the event lived up to its promise, revealing a roster of 24 actors that spans the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four. The livestream, which trended globally on X with hashtags like #AvengersDoomsday, #Magneto, and #MisterFantastic, concluded with a final reveal that sent shockwaves through the fandom: Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic.

The event kicked off with a cryptic message—“Take a seat”—followed by a parade of director’s chairs, each bearing the name of a key MCU star. The initial reveals included Chris Hemsworth as Thor, a veteran Avenger whose return signals a major role for the God of Thunder; Vanessa Kirby, widely rumored to be Sue Storm of the Fantastic Four; Anthony Mackie as Captain America, leading the new Avengers team; Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier; Letitia Wright as Shuri/Black Panther, representing Wakanda; and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, whose small chair sparked playful fan theories about his shrinking abilities.

The reveals continued with Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, a controversial figure from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier; Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, the Sub-Mariner from Talokan; Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, confirming the Fantastic Four’s involvement; and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, whose Ten Rings promise to bring mystical elements to the fight. The livestream then introduced Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, the new Black Widow; Kelsey Grammer as Hank McCoy/Beast, marking the X-Men’s integration; Lewis Pullman, rumored to be Johnny Storm/Human Torch; Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon; Joseph Quinn, whose role remains a mystery; and David Harbour as Red Guardian, adding humor to the ensemble.

Next came Winston Duke as M’Baku, the Jabari leader from Wakanda, whose strength will bolster the team; Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, bringing quantum intrigue; Tom Hiddleston as Loki, the God of Mischief turned multiversal protector; and Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier, further solidifying the X-Men’s presence. The final X-Men trio revealed was Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, reuniting the original X-Men cast in a historic crossover moment.

The livestream’s grand finale confirmed Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, a casting that had been rumored for months but was officially unveiled (https://deadline.com/gallery/avengers-doomsday-cast-photos-marvel/avengers-doomsday-cast-pedro-pascal-mister-fantastic/). Pascal, known for his roles in The Last of Us and The Mandalorian, brings a seasoned gravitas to the leader of the Fantastic Four. His involvement in Avengers: Doomsday aligns with earlier reports of the Fantastic Four’s pivotal role in the Multiverse Saga, setting the stage for a showdown with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, a villain with deep ties to Reed Richards in Marvel Comics lore.

This 24-person ensemble—Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and Pedro Pascal—represents the most ambitious crossover in MCU history. The cast spans the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Wakanda, Talokan, and beyond, uniting heroes from across Marvel’s cinematic universe to face the multiversal threat of Doctor Doom.

Fans on X erupted with excitement, with #MisterFantastic trending alongside #AvengersDoomsday. “Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards? This is perfection! The Fantastic Four vs. Doctor Doom is going to be epic,” one user tweeted. Another wrote, “Seeing the X-Men like Magneto and Professor X with the Avengers is a dream come true!” The inclusion of characters like Loki, Shang-Chi, and Ghost hints at a narrative that will weave together cosmic, mystical, and quantum elements, while the Fantastic Four and X-Men add a new layer of depth to the Multiverse Saga.

Set for release on May 1, 2026, Avengers: Doomsday is poised to be a defining chapter in the MCU, building on the legacy of The Avengers, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. With production already underway, as confirmed by earlier reports, this historic cast announcement has set the stage for an unprecedented battle that will test the limits of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes—and their multiversal allies. Marvel Studios has once again proven its ability to captivate audiences, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the next glimpse of this monumental film.
