Will The Åre Murders Get a Season 2 on Netflix?

Ingobernable, a Mexican series is one such show that has a lot of twists, suspense and mystery. If you haven’t watched it yet, you must. The show was so good that fans have been curious to know if there will be a third season of Ingobernable although it’s been quite a few years since we last heard of anything from Netflix or the showrunners. To be exact, it’s not known if there will be even a third season but fans remain hopeful to this very day.

What is Ingobernable about?

The Netflix show is directed by Argos Pedro Ibarra along with Jose Luis Garcia, produced by Argos Comunicación and Kate del Castillo as its executive producer who also stars in the show.

The series follows the story of Emilia Urquiza, the wife of Mexico’s president and the First Lady of Mexico with a vision to create peace for the nation but things don’t go too well as many unseen obstacles are awaiting and a big scandal breaks out. Emilia slowly begins to lose trust in her spouse, Deigo Nava; she then finds herself at a point where she’ll have to face the challenges to reveal the truth.

Ingobernable to return for Season 3?

It has been over three years since the last season of “Ingobernable” aired, and Netflix has not confirmed the renewal of a third season. Consequently, there are doubts about the availability of space or a suitable plot for a potential Season 3.

Ingobernable has two seasons so far with 27 episodes in total. The first season premiered on March 24, 2017, with 15 episodes and the second season was released on September 14, 2018, with 12 episodes. If a third season happens, it will consist of 12 episodes. Given the series popularity, Netflix might revive the show and if we look at the ratings, the series scored 7.1/10 and 87 percent on Rotten Tomatoes which is quite good. However, until Netflix officially gives the green signal for a third instalment, we can’t be too sure.

The Cast

In the third season of Ingobernable, the major characters will likely return and reprise their roles including Kate del Castillo (as Emilia Urquiza), Erik Hayser (as Diego Nava Martinez), Alberto Guerra (as Canek Lagos), Erendira Ibarra (as Ana Vargas-West), and Luis Roberto Guzmán as (Pete Vázquez, CIA agent), Álvaro Guerrero (as José Barquet), Luis Ernesto Franco (as Santiago Salazar).

We also expect to see other similar faces in recurring roles and maybe a few new faces in the possible upcoming season.

Where to watch Ignobernable?

Ingobernable is available to watch and stream on Netflix. You may try Netflix for free. Netflix offers a 30-day free trial with all content and then charges monthly after the trial ends. Happy watching!

What happened at the end of Ignobernable season 2?

After being implicated for the death of her husband, the President, Emilia Urquiza (Kate del Castillo) flees in Ingobernable Season 2. To force her confession, the Mexican military tortures her. Canek (Alberto Guerra), a former Mexican special forces soldier, rescues Emilia. She then joins the rebels against the corrupt government.

Emilia’s daughter, Sofía (Erika Buenfil), is also fleeing. Her powerful businesswoman grandma, Beatriz (Mercedes Morán), protects her. Sofía discovers her father’s death and joins the resistance to assist her mother. The President’s Office Chief of Staff, Ana Vargas-West (Eréndira Ibarra), is also probing the assassination. The killer is a government insider, and Emilia is innocent.

Emilia and the resistance expose government corruption triumphantly. All accusations are dropped and Emilia is reunited with her daughter. Some notable Ingobernable Season 2 events:

  • Emilia is tortured by the Mexican military.
  • Canek rescues Emilia.
  • Resistance member Emilia.
  • Sofia acquires the truth regarding her father’s death.
  • Emilia is innocent, Ana Vargas-West discovers.
  • Resistance reveals government corruption.

Its tension, superb performances, and realistic portrayal of Mexican politics earned Ingobernable Season 2 plaudits. It was also a Netflix hit in Mexico, ranking high in viewership. Please stay tuned for more updates!
