Gangsta is a Japanese anime series adapted from the manga series penned and illustrated by Kohsje. The manga series has been publicized in Shinchosha’s Monthly Comic @BUNCH publication since March 2011. The manga series became massively popular not only in Japan but also overseas and it later developed a spin-off manga, audio drama, anime series, and a novel.
The anime series was released in July 2015. Upon release, it received mainly positive reviews from both the audience and critics alike. Fans have since then waited for so long for the makers to produce the second season but it looks like things are as smooth as it looks like as studio Manglobe has stopped functioning due to bankruptcy
So here a question arises whether or not Gangsta will be back for another season despite the first season being released almost 8 years ago. Here’s what we know:
Will There Be a Season 2 of Gangsta?
As mentioned above, studio Manglobe has dissolved. The reason is that bankruptcy has forced the studio to shut down and only allowed them to release a single and final season of the anime series. Gangsta was the final anime series produced under Manglobe before announcing its insolvency two days after the anime series had been completed.
Therefore, it is highly like that a second season will not be produced though this can be only possible if Gangsta is picked by another studio. But again, it is uncertain.
Gangsta Season 2 Release Date
Season one of Gangsta was released on July 2, 2015, and ended on September 24, 2015, consisting of 12 episodes in total. No announcement has been made till now concerning a new season mainly because the studio responsible for producing the anime series has dissolved as we have mentioned the reason above. Nevertheless, fans of this show are still hopeful for the second season, although it seems far from impossible.
So no release date has been announced yet as the series has not been confirmed as of April 2023.

Plot Details for Gangsta Season 2
Plot details have not been revealed. The manga series has so far launched 8 volumes in total and also a manga series titled “Gangsta: Cursed” has 5 volumes. So fans can read them if they want to find out more about the two main characters and how the story unfolds since the prospect of the show returning with a new season is quite slim.
