Deception Season 2 Release Date
The new midseason drama Deception on ABC has decided not to get a second-season renewal and has thus been cancelled (via Deadline).
With a 1.3 in the 18-49 demographic and 6.1 million viewers overall, Deception’s launch was the network’s greatest scripted premiere performance in the hour since September 2015’s Quantico.
Though hardly a breakout, it was a solid beginning for a drama in the present ratings climate. However, by April 23, the show had fallen to 3.38 million viewers and its lowest demo rating of 0.6.
After then, the show has somewhat recovered, averaging 0.7–0.8 for its reruns, but it was still insufficient. Deception’s Season 1 average in the majority of current ratings is 1.2.
Jack Cutmore-Scott plays the role of celebrity magician Cameron Black in the Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti TV series. He can only turn to the FBI to hone his art of deceit, persuasion, and illusion after the scandal destroys his career.
While pulling off the largest illusions of his career, Cameron assists the authorities in apprehending the most elusive criminals in the world by employing every trick in the book and creating new ones.
Lenora Crichlow, Vinnie Jones, Justin Chon, Laila Robins, Amaury Nolasco, and Ilfenesh Hadera co-star. Fedak, Sarah Schechter and Greg Berlanti of Berlanti TV, and Martin Gero serve as executive producers for the project. Do watch out for more updates!
What is the Plotline of Deception Season two?
We have no exact plot synopsis available for Deception season two just yet. With that, it is safe to assume that the next round of episodes will begin from where season one left off. Last season saw the mystery woman finally reveal her name, however, the name was not heard by audiences. This female character existed for most parts, yet viewers have no clue where she is heading. She has a plan and has a connection with Black’s past. But has she made a mistake by framing Jonathan Black in the murder? Jonathan is still behind the bars, and there is more story to tell. We are not certain what a season two would be like, nevertheless, we could guess what an alternate end to season one could be. Perhaps Cameron ends up behind the bars but not for too long, whereas Jonathan and the mystery woman are out in the world on new adventures.
Who is in the Cast of Deception Season two?
The creators have not revealed any casting information regarding Deception season two. But if a season two ever happens, we would be delighted to see Jack Cutmore Scott as the series lead as Cameron Black. Scott also plays the character of Jonathan Black, Cameron’s twin brother. Kay Daniels reprising her role as Ilfenesh Hadera, FBI agent who works with Cameron to solve high-profile crime cases. Lenora Crichlow joined the cast as Dina Clark. Other likable returns include Laila Robins, Amaury Nolasco, Vinnie Jones, and Stepanie Corneliussen. Season one also featured guest roles from Brett Dalton, Jack Davenport, and Mario Van Peebles.
Chris Fedak has developed the series and also executive produced it alongside Greg Berlanti, Martin Gero, and David Nutter. Chad McQuay, Ryan LInderberg, and David Kwong have acted as the series producers. And Warner Bros Domestic Television Distribution is the official distributor of the show.
