The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is one of the most popular American supernatural horror television series. Sadly, Netflix came out with news confirming the cancellation of the fifth season. Showrunner Craig Forrest also announced its fifth season, to be published in a comic book.
The dramatic Cliffhanger, left in the fourth season, will also be revealed in the comic book. Though the series has ended, the story will still continue in the new comic book series.
Soon after the news broke out about the cancellation of season 5 by Netflix, a petition of about 30,000 signatures was signed to renew the next installment of the series.
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was developed by Roberto Aguirre Sacasa. The show was an adaptation of a coming book series with the same title. The series first premiered on October 26, 2018, and including all four seasons were also premiered on the streaming giant, Netflix.
Will there be season 5 of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina?
Unfortunately, there won’t be a season 5. The fourth season released on Netflix in January 2020 was the last and final season of the series. Netflix has also confirmed the cancellation of the fifth season.
The fans of Chilling Adventure of Sabrina rated the show as 7.8 by 10. It is also nominated for various award categories. It even got fair reviews from the critics and the fans who are eagerly waiting for season 5. But it will not be streamed in its visual effects but will come out to be the last season in the form of a comic book as confirmed to date.
When is the comic book releasing, and what’s it going to be about?
Our beloved witch, Sabrina Spellman, will come back from the dead in the upcoming comic book Archie Comics and Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa titled “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #9.”
The comic book is all to release on Oct. 13, with collaboration between Aguirre-Sacasa and original comic series artist Robert Hack, “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #9” will return to the series’ satanic horror roots and proceed with the “Witch War” storyline, with the Spellman’s witches. One from Hell and the other from Earth. Who will win?
“Bringing Sabrina and her family and friends to life on the screen for Netflix was a dark dream come true, and I couldn’t be prouder of our four seasons, but it all started with a comic book series that was truly a labor of love for everyone who worked on it,” Aguirre-Sacasa told in a news release. “Reuniting with Robert Hack and the entire Archie Comics team and getting to pick up where we left off has been the best homecoming I could have ever asked for,” he added.
Later this year, Aguirre-Sacasa will proceed with Sabrina’s spooky journey with another comic book series, titled “The Occult World of Sabrina,” the story will pick up from where the Netflix show finale left off. The series will also feature art by Audrey Mok and include characters and plot lines from the Netflix series, as readers follow Sabrina, Nick, Harvey, and all the members of the Fright Club in the first story titled “A World Without Sabrina.”
Archie Comics CEO and Publisher Jon Goldwater stated that “Roberto coming back to the comics fold is such a special thing to experience, he’s done a remarkable job of creating fresh, new and captivating stories across ‘Riverdale,’ ‘Sabrina,’ and ‘Katy Keene.’ He steps right back into his comics sweet spot, and the world he has created is truly amazing.”
Sabrina’s story will continue in the new comic series, which will hit stands on October 13, 2021.
