‘The Chelsea Detective’ had its second season in August, this year, and fans are beyond excited to know what is in store for the popular series’ future. Despite being in its development stage, ‘The Chelsea Detective’s third season is predicted to commence its filming by mid- 2024 and will continue the journey of Detective Inspector Max Arnold, in is quest to solve crimes. The series first aired in 2022 on Acorn TV and was met with positive ratings with Firstpost naming the series as one focused on “detailing characters and their conflicts”. The series was also noted for its unique approach in portraying detective crime dramas by focusing on a character driven plotline with Inspector Max Arnold being an ordinary man with his own merits and flaws. The second season consisted of a total of 4 episodes each divided into two parts.
Detective Inspector Max Arnold is first shown as a man who lives on a battered houseboat at the end of Cheyne Walk. Having recently separated from his art dealer wife Astrid Max, he still hopes to move back into their apartment in nearby Cadogan Square. The first season followed Detective Max and Streatham-born D.C. Priya Shamsie (played by Sonita Henry) investigating a wide range of crimes. The second season introduced Layla Walsh (played by Vanessa Emme) as Detective Max’s partner in solving crimes. Now with the third season approaching, Adrian Scarborough will be reprising his role as Detective Inspector Max Arnold.

For ‘The Chelsea Detective’ Season 3, Ella Kelly, Peter Fincham and Catherine Mackin will be returning to the crew as the series’ producers. Peter Fincham will also be reprising his role as the film’s writer alongside Glen Laker and Liz Lake. Richard Signy and Darcia Martin will be returning to direct the upcoming season which will also be shot in London, United Kingdom. Richard Signy’s other works include, ‘Undercover Heart’ which premiered in 1998 and ‘Death in Paradise’ which premiered in 2011. Darcia Martin is additionally known for ‘Riches’ which was created by Abby Ajayi. The development of ‘The Chelsea Detective’ Season 3 is taken up under Expectation TV alongside, Bray Film Studios, Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen and BBC Studios. The upcoming season of ‘The Chelsea Detective’ will also premiere on Acorn TV like its previous seasons.
