A Discovery of Witches season 3 release date: When is it going to air?
There is no official announcement of the release date nor a specific date. However, the third season is set to premiere at the end of 2021 or possibly early 2022. But the sad news is, this will be the last season of the series, which star Teresa Palmer called a “trilogy.”
Palmer on Instagram said, “The end of an era. Since 2017 I have had the great privilege and pleasure of embodying Diana Bishop. Today I said goodbye to this powerhouse of a character as we rolled on our last shot of the last season of this trilogy.”

It is an obvious answer that the main characters of A Discovery of Witches will surely return for the next series, i.e, Matthew Goode and Teresa Palmer.

A Discovery of Witches season 3 plot
The cliffhanger on the previous season finale has raised many questions left unanswered but be rest assured, everything shall be resolved in the third and last season of the series based on the final book in Deborah Harkness’ trilogy.
The series star Matthew Goode confirmed (via Digital Spy), “As far as the trilogy is concerned, the next [third] season is the last.”
“There is a fourth book that is Marcus’s book,” Teresa Palmer added, “but we don’t know. Maybe that would be developed into another season, but for right now, this is the end of the road.”
Which means that the story of Diana and Matthew will come to an end in season three.
Adelle Leonce has disclosed that the characters will be spreading out to venture on their pursuits, fans are expected to have lots of “different adventures”.
“This series kind of divides…” Adelle told (via Good Housekeeping UK). “Everyone goes off on their own mission so we see a real split in the characters. Diana gets her sidekick, and I’m all about helping her, and Marcus goes off and does his thing. It’s such a complex book and so much to cover… So lots of different avenues, lots of different adventures and lots of big moments to look forward to.”
“Plot-wise it’s hard to say too much! It’s strange because plot-wise as well, it’s the third book, so lots of people will know what happens. It’s nice to see the whole gang back together after season two,” Edward added.
