Doggie Kamealoha, M.D. is an American family medical drama show created by Kourtney Kang inspired by the 1989 to 1993 ABC TV series “Doogie Howser, M.D.” The show main lead Peyton Elizabeth Lee portrays as the title character of Lahela Kamealoha aka Doogie alongside the supporting roles Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, Rose Perkins, Ronny Chieng, Wes Tian, Matthew Sato, Mapuana Makia, Emma Meisel, and Jason Scott Lee. The story takes place in modern-day Hawaii, it revolves around Lahela Kamealoha or Doogie, a teenage prodigy who keeps a balance between her school life, family and her medical career. This series doesn’t entirely follow the story of Doogie Howser M.D., however, the characters admitted that the series as a TV show and bestowed Lahela the pet name “Doogie” referring to the original series.
While many fans are wondering about the second season of Doogie Kamealoha, M.D., it’s hard to foresee whether Disney plus will axe or greenlight the series for another season run. But it all depends on the production cost and the viewership ratings. Here’s what we know about it.
Is Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. Season 2 Renewed?
As of now, the show is neither renewed nor cancelled. Like we’ve mentioned before, taking into consideration the production cost and viewership ratings only then Disney+ will decide whether to continue the series or call it a wrap.
However, if we have to be honest, the series failed to wow the audience and as a result, the reviews received aren’t the best. But the good news is, it’s somewhat popular with Disney fans.
It’s hard to predict when Disney will give an official announcement regarding the show’s status as it happens most of the time that by the end of the first season, Disney either declares a show’s renewal or cancellation followed by another announcement after some months.
In addition to that, we can expect some form of update by the end of 2021.
