Mattel Films’ upcoming project is a feature film titled as, ‘Big Jim’ and is rumored to feature Zack Efron in the title role. Mattel Films recently released ‘Barbie’ which was directed by Greta Gerwig and is based on Mattel’s fashion doll line with the same name. Known for their animated movies on the same, their other works include, ‘Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses’ which premiered in 2006, ‘Barbie as Rapunzel’ which was directed by Owen Hurley, ‘Barbie Mariposa and the Fairy Princess’ which premiered in 2013 and more.
Zack Efron is a known actor whose works include, ‘High School Musical’ film series, ‘The Greatest Showman’ which was directed by Michael Gracey, ‘Bad Neighbours’ which premiered in 2014, ‘Hairspray’ which was directed by Adam Shankman and more. The upcoming feature will potentially showcase Zac Efron in the role of Jim, who is the leader of a secret Government sect known as P.A.C.K. and suddenly gets killed in action. 30 years later when he is reanimated, he finds himself in a world that has moved on without him. However, the world is still not free from threats and when a disgraced tech mogul attacks the security of the world, Jim must prepare himself once more in order to take down his new nemesis through evolving and catching up with the world’s ways to ultimately save the personal relationships he once took for granted.
Michael Dowse to Join the Crew for ‘Big Jim’
Possibly joining the crew for the upcoming feature film as its director is the known filmmaker Michael Dowse. The artist is known for a number of works such as, ‘What If’ which premiered in 2013, ‘Stuber’ which starred Kumail Nanjiani and Dave Bautista, ‘It’s All Gone Pete Tong’ which premiered in 2004, ‘8-Bit Christmas’ a comedy, and more. Marcy Kelly will be composing the screenplay for ‘Big Jim’ which is currently under development. Marcy Kelly is an emerging writer and her works include, ‘Life Is Short’ which premiered in 2006 and ‘ Hipster Holocaust’ which premiered in 2012.
Robbie Brenner and Kevin McKeon will be teaming up for the upcoming film’s production. Robbie Brenner is a known producer whose works include, ‘The Tribes of Palos Verdes’ which was directed by Emmett Malloy, ‘Call Jane’ which premiered in 2022, ‘The Dallas Buyers Club’ a drama and more. Also, she was part of Mattel Films’ ‘Barbie’ (2023). Kevin McKeon worked alongside Robbie Brenner in works such as ‘Call Jane’ and ‘The Tribes of Palos Verdes’ and is a known producer.
With a developing cast and crew, ‘Big Jim’ is predicted to commence its filming soon.
