Elon Musk just confirmed you can now buy Tesla with bitcoin in a tweet
You can now buy a Tesla with Bitcoin
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) March 24, 2021
“Tesla is using only internal & open source software & operates Bitcoin nodes directly. Bitcoin paid to Tesla will be retained as Bitcoin, not converted to fiat currency” he further added
Earlier in february, CoinMarket had added a ticker of Model3 (Tesla) at the forefront of their list which sparked a debate
The Payment option is already live on their official website
Tesla, Inc. is an American electric vehicle and clean energy company based in Palo Alto, California. Tesla’s current products include electric cars, battery energy storage from home to grid scale, solar panels and solar roof tiles, as well as other related products and services. Tesla is also the first auto company in the world to accept bitcoin as payment
The Payment option is however only available to US users as of now and will be later rolled out for users from outside the US
Earlier this year, Tesla converted $1.5billion to Bitcoin and the company is now offering it as a payment method across the US. Tesla boss Elon Musk confirmed the news on Twitter and said it payments to Tesla will “be retained as Bitcoin”.
Due the volatile nature of bitcoin, its going to be interesting to see how often the conversion changes.
Here are some of the twitter reactions
Hey @elonmusk — seriously, what’s the point of Tesla “retaining” Bitcoin?
What’s the end game?
What’s Tesla gonna do with all those bits? https://t.co/eZB8dbXPp2

Will tesla hold the same purchase price value of #Bitcoin until you fulfill and then pay upon delivery the current market price of Bitcoin? So if I buy a Tesla for 1 Bitcoin today and tomorrow Bitcoin tanks can I still pay 1 Bitcoin or are you wanting some shit fiat to correlate

Which is the price of the cars, in BTC? This might bring some stability to the Bitcoin price (if Bitcoin goes down, more people will buy BTC to buy a Tesla)
