There’s little getting away from the fact that Ozark is one of the best crime dramas to come from Netflix. The viewing figures and critics alike all point towards that fact. With season 3 being left on a knife’s edge, we’re now set to be treated to season 4 – the final instalment.
If you’ve already binged watched the first 3 seasons, you’ll no doubt remember the glamour of the off-land casino. Run by Ruth, and a front for money laundering, this was the place to be to play some classic casino games. Of course, in real-life, players don’t need to head to an off-land casino to enjoy their gambling entertainment. Everything is available on the internet now, with online casinos even offering bonuses like free spins for new players to enjoy.
But, in the Ozarks, playing casino is still done the traditional way. And it’s proved a huge success too. In fact, it seemed that the family had it made but, just like with any great story, there’s always a spanner in the works.
What’s it all about?
Maybe you’re one of the few who hasn’t quite got around to watching this Netflix gem. If so, you may be wondering what all of the fuss is about. Well, this show follows the Byrde family who finds themselves tied in a web of crime and deceit. While trying to start a new life, the problem is that Marty Byrde owes a ton of money to his former employer. The answer is found in a touch of money laundering.
The reality is that the family get a little too good at what they’re doing. This sees them becoming wealthy and attracting the attention of the kind of people that you just don’t want to be crossing. With allies and enemies in equal measure, you never quite knew what was coming next.
How were things left in season 3?
Season 3 was designed to leave us all wanting more. The Byrde family had become more and more successful and found themselves more and more immersed in the criminal underworld. They managed to eliminate some of their most dangerous threats and move up the criminal ladder.
Season 4 at last
After what felt like a lifetime, season 4 was released in January 2022. During this season, we find the Byrde family now working directly for Omar Navarro. In case you’ve forgotten, he’s the number one boss of the drug cartel. What makes this a must-watch is that the family are also working for someone else!
Desperate to escape the lifestyle that they’ve created, and return to a degree of normality, the family is also working on behalf of the FBI. This gamble could see them freed from the trap they’ve found themselves in, or it could lead to an early grave!
Season 4 part 2
For some reason, Netflix decided to split the final season into two parts. The second part, consisting of 7 episodes came to our screens in April of this year. These episodes are where we reach a stunning climax and see many loose ends being tied up.
If you’ve yet to watch seasons 1-3, that’s something you should really do now. If you’ve already done that then we assure you that all that season 4 holds, will not leave you disappointed.
