When Calls the Heart is one of Hallmark’s longest family shows and many fans are anticipating its return after the abrupt ending in the ninth season. However, as far as the tenth season is concerned, nothing has been revealed yet but series executive producer Brian Bird has a lot to say about the prospects of the potential tenth season while talking to JLJ Media. Bird seems to be optimistic that the show will proceed and will not be stopping anytime soon.
“We don’t see the end of this show. I don’t know when Season 10 or if Season 10 will be announced 100%, but all I’m saying is that we still feel like we’re going to go forward. And we will no matter what, I can say that… We know [that the show has places to go]; we believe that. We haven’t decided that it’s over yet, and we have to decide, so that, in my opinion, I’ll leave it at that.”
It looks like he’s indicating that there’s a chance that the show could be canceled or we’re not so sure yet. Well, let’s find out below.
Is Season 10 of When Calls the Heart Been Renewed?
As of June 4, 2022, the show has not been renewed. The ninth season aired from March 6, 2022, to May 22, 2022. Hallmark will likely take a while to renew the show given that the ninth season ended only a few weeks ago.
Speaking JLJ Media, Brian Bird said: “I really don’t believe we’ve even peaked yet with this show with Season 9. We will be around for a long time, I believe. Whether or not, you know, the Hallmark Channel wants to keep us around forever doesn’t matter. There will be somebody else who wants it because it is so unique. And we will keep making the show as long as those Hearties want to show up and watch the show.”
So chances are that WCTH will most likely return with its tenth season.
When Call the Heart Season 10 Release Date
Currently, it’s unclear when the show will be released as WCTH is still awaiting its renewal confirmation and as a result, an official release date has yet to be revealed.
However, we expect that the tenth season will most likely arrive sometime in 2023 at the earliest.

When Calls the Heart Season 10 Plot
The previous season ended on a major cliffhanger and left many things unsettled. So if season 10 happens, Bird did reveal that WCTH will always stop with “unfinished business in Hope Valley” so we hope that the show will continue for season 10 and beyond.
He said: “We hope that everybody sees that there’s unfinished business in Hope Valley and we didn’t tie up everything in this episode, right? Because we have no intention of riding off into the sunset ourselves with this show. We will never end the show unless we decide we’re going to end the show right? We will always have cliffhangers and storylines that need to be fixed.”
