Conceived by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, “Westworld” is an American sci-fi western drama TV series that is being produced and published by HBO. The series is inspired by the 1973 movie of the exact title and also to a minor extent, the movie’s sequel launched in 1976 titled “Futureworld.”
The series has so far launched three seasons in total with the fourth season scheduled to launch on June 26, 2022, while many fans are excited about the upcoming season, some fans are curious to know about what’s coming next. Here’s what we know about season 5 of Westworld-
About the show
The tale starts in Westworld, make-believe technologically progressive wild west-themed recreation park inhabited by robot hosts. The park provides services to rich guests who may relinquish their vicious imaginations within the park without any sense of concern of retribution from the hosts, who are deterred by their system set-up from mistreating humans. In the third season of Westworld, the series’ background broadens to the actual world, which takes place in the mid-21st century, where the existence of humanity is navigated and governed by a strong AI named Rehoboam.
Upon release, the series became HBO’s greatest viewership ratings release since True Detective’s first episode, in 2014. Westworld’s debut seasons also achieved HBO’s most viewed first season of any of the network’s original series.
The show stars Evan Rachel Wood, Thandiwe Newton, Jeffrey Wright, James Marsden, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Luke Hemsworth, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Simon Quarterman, Rodrigo Santoro, Angela Sarafyan, Shannon Woodward, Ed Harris, Anthony Hopkins, Ben Barnes, Clifton Collins Jr., Jimmi Simpson, Tessa Thompson, Fares Fares, Louis Herthum, Talulah Riley, Gustaf Skarsgård, Katja Herbers, Zahn McClarnon, Aaron Paul, Vincent Cassel, and Tao Okamoto.
Will there be a Season 5 of Westworld?
Series creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy have agreed to a five-year deal plan with Amazon meaning the fifth season is automatically commissioned even though season four has yet to premiere.
Nevertheless, the fourth season’s success will be an important factor in this decision although we’re optimistic that season 4 will do just well just like its previous seasons.
“They are 100 percent hands on,” HBO boss Casey Bloys asserted. “We have deals with them for a potential fourth and fifth season. So the deal with them [at Amazon] is for, I believe, everything but ‘Westworld.’ And they’re very committed to ‘Westworld.’ So I’m not worried about losing their focus, they don’t lose focus.”
Westworld Season 5 Release Date: When is it?
Showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy have signed a five-year deal with Amazon, and they have expressed positiveness about creating forthcoming sequels. Both Nolan and Joy consented to Amazon. Hence, fans can look forward to the fifth installment sometime in 2023 and assuming that production begins on time and goes smoothly, following their two years gap routine between seasons.
