After much delay, Cruise’s next movies; Top Gun: Maverick, the much-anticipated sequel to his 1986’s Top Gun, and the seventh instalment of Mission: Impossible will both be released this year, scheduled to hit the big screens on May 27 and September 30 respectively. DC and Marvel have played their part in making the action genre the most entertaining in recent years, but the monotonous stretch is begging for a buffer like a capeless action adventure movie.
Cruise’s name has to be in the first three on the top ten list of any moviegoer who is into the action genre. The man is near perfect in every action scene, training for many years to perform some of his stunts that would run for just five to ten minutes of a movie. Such dedication to each project is evident on the screen. No one leaves the cinema after seeing a new Tom Cruise’s movie feeling underwhelmed. It’s been three years since his last movie, and he has sorely been missed.
