Glow season 4 News
GLOW, Netflix’s women’s wrestling comedy-drama will not be returning for a fourth and final season.
Fans expressed huge disappointment when GLOW season 4 and the final season of their favourite series was cancelled. The popular comedy series women’s pro wrestling was dropped due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
As for the show’s sudden conclusion, Brie explained, “It’s definitely a bummer. I’m going to miss playing with those incredible women and Marc Maron and Chris Lowell. But you know, we’re so lucky. We’re lucky that we got to make three, to me, perfect seasons of a show. I love it so much and it will live on Netflix forever. So people can still check it out.”
Why GLOW Season 4 Renewed Only To Be Canceled Again?
In September 2019 GLOW was originally renewed for a fourth season which was meant to be the final season. Check the renewal announcement below:

However, Netflix reversed its renewal decision and decided to cancel the show in October 2020. The streaming giant cited the hardships of filming the show during the Covid-19 pandemic. It further explained that GLOW would occasionally involve physical contact as a part of wrestling, which is basically not the safest way to deal with the pandemic when the cast have eventually begun filming for the fourth season but was axed even though filming was still ongoing.

Glow Season 4 May or May not Return!
The decision made by Netflix has taken us by surprise and many fans are demanding a feature-length continuation of the show.
In an interview with Gilpin (via IndieWire) she was asked about her time on the wrestling comedy-drama in which she responded that GLOW might eventually return. She also opened up about her character, Debbie Egan, and what would have happened. Gilpin said, “My pitch is that we do it in 20 years and we have a ‘Mare of Easttown’-Esque season four, or ‘Golden Girls’-esque. Can you spoil something that’s never going to come out? Will it come out? I think that, without spoiling, Debbie continues on a career path maybe to a detriment, focuses on that, and suddenly wakes up and realizes her personal life is not what she wants it to be. Can you have it all? Probably not.”
Can We Expect a Continuation of GLOW Season 4? Maybe a Movie?
After the official announcement about the sudden cancellation of GLOW season 4 by Netflix, outrage fans have started petitions and campaigns on social media platforms for a chance of continuation of the series so that the ladies can say their farewells to the fans so that everyone will have a satisfactory ending.
So, do we get a continuation of the series? GLOW star Alison Brie is not too confident about this and one can only assume that it’s too good to be true for things like to happen.
Brie told The Playlist, “I certainly think a [‘GLOW’] movie could tie everything up. Our creators, Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch are incredible writers. And they’re so devoted to these characters that they created. I think a movie would be a great way to wrap it up.
I’m a little pessimistic about it actually happening just in light of everything that’s gone on this year and how difficult it is to get anything back into production with COVID, and I’m also part of the ‘Community’ cast, who’s been trying to get a movie going for six years, so what I’m saying is don’t hold your breath because if it does happen, it might take a minute.”
Takeaway
As of May 2022, the series stands canceled. Netflix has discontinued the series but you can watch the previous seasons on the streaming giant.
So what are your thoughts? would you want to see a GLOW movie or you’d rather want the fourth season. Either way, I think we’re getting none but can’t say what the future holds though. Stay tuned for more updated information.
