Developed by Melinda Hsu Taylor along with Noga Landau and Cameron Johnson, ‘Tom Swift’ is a mystery drama TV series based on a book by Victor Appleton of the exact name. It stars Tian Richards, Ashleigh Murray, Marquise Vilsón, Albert Mwangi, and April Parker Jones. Tom Swift is a follow-up sequel to Nancy Drew which was launched on The CW on May 31, 2022.
Star Richards explained the adaptation, “The original Tom Swift was great for his time and what he represented. At the time, that was the face of young boys, All-American kids full of possibilities. But in 2021, that can look so different. It can look like someone like me—a Black guy who is chocolate, who is queer, who is all those things that we’re told aren’t the normal or the status quo.” He said, “We’re going to dive into so many sectors of identity. We’re going to talk about Blackness—and a different kind of Blackness than we’re used to seeing, which is the Black elite, the 1 percent, the billionaires. We’re also going to talk about a queer boy’s journey into becoming a queer man. Not only self-acceptance but acceptance as a whole, having the community and people around you.”
The series is executively produced by Anton Cropper, Lis Rowinski, Cameron Johnson, Noga Landau, Melinda Hsu Taylor, Stephanie Savage, and Josh Schwartz while its producers are Jonathan C. Brody and Kristin Killey. Here’s what we know about the second season of Tom Swift.
Will there be a Season 2 of Tom Swift?

Tom Swift Season 2 Plot: What can we expect?
Plot details are kept under wraps and it’s complicated to predict what would actually happen in the next season.
Earlier, in an interview with KSiteTV, actor Tian Richards was asked if there could be a potential crossover between Tom Swift and Nancy Drew, he responded: “Of course. I loved working on that set. I loved working with the cast. Kennedy, Tunji, Leah, Madison, Alex… I would love nothing more. It’s a little bit difficult to do, because we take place in two different time periods… we’re in 2022, and I think they’re in 2019 going into 2020.. so unless I go back in the past, or they show up the future, we would have to figure that out. But it’s sci-fi. Who knows? Anything can happen.”
Co-creator Noga Landau also disclosed to the Us Weekly and correspondents during a conference for the upcoming series.
“So right now, they are in two completely different years. Nancy Drew, it’s still 2019 and Tom Swift has jumped forward to the present day, he added. “As far as the two shows speaking to each other, if they do, it’s gonna happen eventually, and it’s gonna happen in a really interesting way. But, you know, what’s important to us is that these two shows really stand on their own.”
