Thor: Love and Thunder plot details: What to expect?
Director Waititi has revealed that the movie is heavily inspired from the Marvel Comics series The Mighty Thor by Jason Aaron and artist Russell Dauterman.
He explained, “That storyline is incredible, full of emotion, love and thunder and introduces for the first time female Thor.”
Actress Natalie Portman who will be seen playing as Jane Foster confirmed that the movie would follow Jane’s cancer plotline from the comics. “She’s going through cancer treatment and is a superhero on the side,” she explained.
It’s also confirmed that Thor: Love and Thunder will have more of an “Avengers 5 feel” as stated by The Hollywood Reporter.
The director of the movie, Waititi told Entertainment Tonight that, “If you take Ragnarok – which I feel was a very big, outlandish, bombastic film – we’re trying to double down on everything we did with that and create something that’s more crazy, more fun, and even more of a big, big adventure.”
The director has mentioned that the movie “might be the best Marvel film ever, ” that is some big words right there.
Waititi has teased that the viewers should expect some romance, most likely a rekindling moment between Thor and Jane Foster.
“It is so insane and it’s also very romantic. I’m into romances now. I want to make romance. I want to make something that I’ve never done or never cared for. I would like to attack something like that,” he stated.
The movie will also focus on the story of Korg and his background, Waiti told ComicBook.com. “We do touch on Korg’s culture. Where he’s from… if you look in the comics about Kronans, it’s an interesting thing about where they come from.”
Star Chris Hemsworth even said that it is “one of the best scripts he’s read in years. It’s Taika at his most extreme, and at his best. If the version I read is the one we get running with, it’s going to be pretty insane.”
