The Umbrella Academy season 3 is just around the corner, although filming is yet to be wrapped up, at least we now know that we’re getting a third installment of the series and it’s happening sooner than you think.
The Umbrella Academy is a Netflix Original superhero/dramedy series. The creator of the series is Steve Blackman, based on the comic book of the same title by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá. The second season of the series was released on July 31, 2020, and was nominated for Emmy Awards for four different categories. The series achieved instant glory among the audiences and it’s as if you keep wanting for more. But guess what? Season 3 is heading our way. The Umbrella Academy season 3 release date
Netflix confirmed that production kicked off in February 2021, and Elliot Page posted on Instagram the same month and revealed that he was back on set. Although it’s pretty much unclear when filming will wrap up, according to the Deadline reports, filming is supposed to finish by the end of 2021.
But of course, there are some hindrances because of Covid-19 which can delay the production process. In an interview with Collider, Tom Hopper (as Luther aka number one) disclosed that the third season’s production is much slower due to the pandemic.
He added, “We’re not that far into it at the moment, so we’ve got a long way to go,” Hopper said. “But it’s good. The great thing is the material, the work is amazing, so every day on set is like I say, a joy and so much fun.”
If the production completes by the end of 2021, we might probably get to see the third season air in early 2022, that is if there are no delays due to Covid-19.
Netflix further announced that The Umbrella Academy season 3 is premiering on June 22, 2023.

During the Geeked Week, mainly for Netflix’s fan event, Blackman did a Q&A in which he revealed that there will be a total of 10 episodes for The Umbrella Academy. He also revealed the titles of the episodes for season 3. They are:

- 302: The World’s Biggest Ball of Twine
- 303: Pocket Full of Lightning
- 304: Kugelblitz
- 305: Kindest Cut
- 306: Marigold
- 307: Auf Wiedersehen
- 308: Wedding at the End of the World
- 309: Six Bells
- 310: Oblivion

Of course, we’re expected to see the seven main characters of the series in the third season.
Elliot Page (as Vanya Hargreeves/Number Seven), Tom Hopper (as Luther Hargreeves/Number One), David Castenada (as Diego Hargreeves/Number Two), Emmy Raver-Lampman (as Allison Hargreeves/Number Three), Robert Sheehan (as Klaus Hargreeves/Number Four), Aidan Gallagher (as Five/Number Five), Justin H. Min (as Ben Hargreeves/Number Six), but on the third season he’ll be the Number Two he’ll be Number Two in The Sparrow Academy.
Colm Feore (as Sir Reginald Hargreeves) and Ritu Arya (as Lila Pitts) are also expected to return for the third season, but so far it hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Likely, we may also get to see Adam Godley (as Pogo the chimpanzee) and Jordan Claire Robbins (as Grace Hargreeves/Mom) to return and reprise their roles as alternate-dimension forms of their Umbrella Academy counterparts however, there is no confirmation about their return for the third season but hopefully, they do return and play their respective roles.
