Ever thought you could find your soulmate or say ‘The one’ through a DNA test? Quite intriguing right? If you are already a fan of the show and have binge-watched all the episodes, you’re probably wondering about the next season we assume? And if you haven’t watched it yet then I’d reckon you do so. You’ll absolutely love this show and the next thing you know it, you’ll be obsessed with it.
The British sci-fi crime series “The One” is a Netflix original series created by Howard Overman based on a book written by John Mars of the exact title. The One made its debut on March 12, 2021, consisting of 8 episodes in total.
The series centres on Rebecca Webb (played by Hannah Ware), a CEO who runs an app called “The One.” This app assures you to match you to your soulmate through DNA examination. Hannah on the other hand, despite being in a happy relationship with Mark, was curious to find out if there was someone more suitable out there. Will it destroy their current relationship? This Netflix show secured a spot in the Top 10 for more than a week and crazed fans of the show are eagerly waiting for season 2 and want to find out everything about it.
Here’s everything we have so far regarding the release date, cast and plot for The One season 2.
The One season 2 Release Date: When is it?
At the moment, The One Season 2 doesn’t have an official release date.
Netflix is yet to renew the series and for that, we’ll have to wait a little longer. Considering the show’s popularity, ratings and viewership, there’s a high possibility that the series will be back for more.
However, if The One season 2 were to be renewed by this year, maybe we’ll get a release in late 2022 or sometime in 2023.
The One Season 2 Cast: Who’s in it?
The One: Season 2 official cast lineup has not been revealed by Netflix. If there’s a possible second season, we could expect to see the major characters reprising their roles that include:
Hannah Ware (as Rebecca Webb)
Zoe Tapper (as Kate Saunders)
Dmitri Leonidas (as James Whiting)
Pallavi Sharda (as Megan Chapman)
Eric Kofi-Abrefa (as Mark Bailey)
Lois Chimimba (as Hannah Bailey)
Do note that The One: Season 1 had so many murders and the characters that died in the series won’t be returning until or unless there is some kind of a flashback sequence.
The One season 2 Plot: What will happen?
Plot details are not available nor has it been revealed since the show’s not even renewed but we’re expecting to see some huge revelations.
To put it, The One Season 2 will probably unveil the dark secret that Rebecca is hiding and a fallout between Kate and Rebecca since Kate knows that Ben was murdered by Rebecca.
Tapper via Express.co.uk said that “Obviously, you’ve started to see the cracks forming, you see the cracks forming in the characters, but you also see the cracks forming in the actual business model.”
She added “Because it’s had such a global effect, it’s as big as a Facebook, people have taken this by storm, taken it on board, and it’s changed their lives.”
We expect the second season to deliver us with a more realistic comparison to psychology between connections that were matched and those that weren’t created with the assistance of Rebecca’s advanced technology.
Final Words
There’s obviously more story to the DNA test system. If people were to find out about this, it’s going to get pretty ugly. Do you think Rebecca’s matchmaking company will come crumbling down? What do you think? If season 2 happens, It’s also likely that new characters will be introduced to stir up the plot.
At this point, we’re hoping to get any kind of information from the makers so that we’ll be rest assured that a second season is happening.
