About The Show
Conceived by Elise Doganieri and Bertram van Munster, “The Amazing Race Canada” is a Canadian adventure reality competition show which is a spin-off of the American version of the same name and has its very own Franchise. The show centers on squads of two as they embark across Canada and around the globe. Every Race season is divided into legs, with squads to figure out clues, guide themselves in unfamiliar places, communicate with locals, conduct physical and mental tasks, and travel by boat, car, air, or taxi. Squads that arrived last in the appointed Pit Stops and are ultimately eliminated from the race. The first squad to reach the appointed destination wins a whopping cash of CA$250,000 and many other prizes from the program’s sponsors.
Will There Be a Season 9 of The Amazing Race Canada?
Currently, there’s no telling if another season will be produced by CTV since the network has unfortunately not renewed The Amazing Race Canada for a ninth installment yet.
After the seventh season finale, it was declared openly that the program was greenlit for an eighth season. Initially hoped to release in mid-2020, the season’s production was held off until 2022 due to the pandemic in Canada and the eight season had to premiere on July 5, 2022, and ended on September 20, 2022. As of now, it is not known if a ninth season will be developed.

Season One of The Amazing Race Canada was released on July 15, 2013. The second season was launched on July 8, 2014. The third season was released on July 8, 2015. The fourth season on June 28, 2016. The fifth season aired on July 4, 2017. The sixth season premiered on July 3, 2018. The seventh season was launched on July 2, 2019. The eighth season came out on July 5, 2022.
As of October 2022, an air date for Season 9 of The Amazing Race Canada is not scheduled because the network has yet to renew or cancel the series. But if renewed, we expect the next season to be out sometime in June or July 2023.
