Snipers, it’s time y’all return to the battlefield! 

It was back in 2017 that we witnessed the spectacular release of the award-winning game series, Sniper Elite 4. And ever since then fans have been awaiting the release of the next game! Well, what do you think – will we get Sniper Elite 5 this year? Or do we have to wait it out a little more? Cmon, let’s get the knack of it.

The Sniper Elite is a well-recognized game franchise that debuted on the 29th of September, 2005. Since then, the growth of the game franchise has only increased. The game was successfully developed by Indie Studio Rebellion, in such a way that the players assume control of the Karl Fairburne fights to deduce Project Kraken in 1944, France. The players fight with a high-powered sniper rifle with enhanced kill cam across immersive maps to stave off the Nazi war machines. 

But oh well, the big question still remains unanswered – when are we getting the next game in the series? Damn, what will be the gameplay? Here’s everything we know so far.

Sniper Elite 5: When will the 5th instalment release?

Elite 4 was a stupendous sequel, no doubt. It was incredible to witness the player response to the Sniper Elite game series when it aired on the Xbox Game pass in 2017. People had fun with the augmentations for Xbox Series X/S! 

While any news related to the release of the fifth instalment has been under wraps for almost 5 years now, can we expect Elite 5 this year? Well, Rebellion studios announced at an ID@Xbox event that Sniper Elite 5 is on its way! Although there isn’t a fixed date known to us, as of now, the game is to be released in 2022! 

Yes, fam – you heard it right! We’re getting Sniper Elite 5 this year! 2022 it is. Hooray!

The game features unrivalled sniping, theatrical third-person kill, and a kill cam with improved attributes. Excited?

Sniper Elite 5: Supported Platforms 

According to sources, Sniper Elite 5 will be available on Epic Games Store for the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Playstation 4 and 5, PC, Windows Store and Steam. Sniper Elite 5 has been affirmed for Xbox Game Pass Day 1 release – and is already on Steam’s shortlist. 

Sniper Elite 5: Gameplay

Sniper Elite 5 is the continuation of the Sniper Elite series with a brand-new campaign set in France. With improved tactical shots, enhanced kill cam features, SMGs to trigger the kill cam, augmented bone mechanics, the fifth instalment has (literally) taken the gameplay to whole different levels! In-depth weapon personalisation, online multiplayer modes, world mechanics and better traversal etcetera are also encompassed in the game.

Players can also participate in 16-player PvP, drop into other players’ campaigns as a foe sniper, team up with other users to take on a wide array of enemies in co-op. The gameplay, however, is potentially nonlinear. Thus, furnishing users with an approach to achieve their set goals and targets. There are a plethora of alternatives available to the user but the main target will (usually) be aimed at by employing a Sniper Rifle.

Developed on grounds on real-life locations from France in 1944, the fifth instalment of the Sniper Elite series encompasses the world’s largest and the most immersive map locations. With the new traversal system delivering myriads of options to kill the enemies, players can end Operation Kraken once and for all. You can even invite another user to help you with your mission.
