Is Shang-Chi 2 renewed or cancelled?
Yes, Shang-Chi season 2 has been renewed. Though the sequel has been confirmed, there are still plenty of other Marvel shows and films in the works. So, it may be some time until we get more concrete details of what Shang-Chi 2 will offer. Stay tuned for more updates!
Shang-Chi 2 release date?
Marvel is known for planning things ahead, and it’s got the rest of Phase 4 and Phase 5 already on its calendar. While dates shift all the time (as the past year has also taught us), we don’t think Shang-Chi season 2 is anywhere in the list right now. Adhering to speculations, season 2 might be released next year.
Who’s going to be included in the cast of Shang-Chi 2?
As of right now, the official star cast list for Shang-Chi season 2 is yet to reveal by the makers. However, it would, of course, see Simu Liu return as Shang-Chi and Awkwafina as Katy – they’re the core duo in the first film and were brought into the world of superheroes by Wong.
Meng’er Zhang should also return now that she’s the head of the Ten Rings organization. Even though she herself doesn’t have the Ten Rings, her brother does. Other actors who could return are Michelle Yeoh and Benedict Wong, considering their stories in the first film and connections to Shang-Chi himself.
Here’s a more detailed list:
- Simu Liu will be playing the role of the main character as Xu Shang Chi or Shaun. He took martial arts lessons from a very young age to become an assassin and work for his father Wenwu, and the character always had a supernatural power that he never knew. Still, some phenomena reveal his power to him.
- Awkwafina will be playing the role of Katy, and the character is the best friend of Shang Chi who lives in San Francisco and have no idea about his past.
- Meng’er Zhang is starring as Xu Xialing, Sang chi’s sister who stays away from the family.
- Fala Chen is starring as Ying Li, and she is the wife of Wenwu and the mother of the superheroic character Shang chi.
- Florian Munteanu is playing the role of Razor List; he is one of the participants of the Ten rings owning a machete blade for his right hand.
- Benedict Wong cast as wong, the “Sorcerer Supreme” who protects the world from wrong happening.
- Michelle Yeoh is starring as Ying Nan, and she will portray the character of Shang Chi and Xialing’s Aunty.
- Ben Kingsley is starring as Trevor Slattery.
- Tony Leung is starring as Xu Wenwu. He is the superior of “The Ten Rings” and the father of Shang Chi and Xu Xiang.
What to expect from Shang-Chi 2 plot?
Shang-Chi 2’s story is the biggest wildcard. Nowadays, Marvel isn’t setting up direct sequels anymore; instead, one movie may lead into a TV show, and vice versa.
So, Shang-Chi 2 may not have anything to do with what actually happened in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. One thing that should see more screen-time in Shang-Chi 2, though, is Ta-Lo and the history of Shang-Chi’s mysterious world.
