Ready for the brand new season of Resident Alien? Well, in case you’re not, giddy up peeps – because Resident Alien has officially been renewed for season 3!
On August 12, 2022, showrunner Chris Sheridan stated that season 3 would be “more or less like the first season but with two extra episodes. It would be developed as a two-part season as with season 2”. He further stated, “I do have some amazing ideas as to what the third season would probably be about”. Well, guess us fans have got a lot in store – the creator has already envisioned and put it all together!

Is Resident Alien season 3 happening?
Oh yes, it is. Resident Alien has officially been renewed for the third season. The makers announced that season 3 of the series Resident Alien will have 8 episodes. The renewal announcement was made right before the premiere of Resident Alien season 2.
Has the filming for Resident Alien season three begun?
As of December 2022, the filming hasn’t begun, but don’t you worry guys – it will kick up in Jan 2023. Show star Alan Tudyk (Harry Vanderspeigle) shared a film update on the 26th of September, 2022. He mentioned that though he’s yet to see scripts for season 3, the filming will officially begin next year January itself.
How many episodes will there be in season 3 of Resident Alien?
Initially, Resident Alien season three was reported to have 12 episodes (as per Deadline). However, later it was confirmed that the third installment will comprise 8 episodes. The Plot
Resident Alien is based on a comic book series of the same name. The plot follows an alien. He’s on this mission to destroy earth (yes, as typical as it always is!) But before he tries to knock earth down, sadly enough – his ship crashes in Colorado. Now, in order to demolish the planet, he gotta find all the missing pieces of his ship. To remain incognito, he disguises as a local president. Ngl, damn smart move! He takes on the human form and calls himself Dr. Harry Vanderspiegle (Tudyk).
But things don’t go down this easily with our alien bud. He is roped into a murder investigation of a doctor. The storyline of Alien Resident follows Harry’s adventures and hardships while he searches for the missing pieces of his ship. But to his own surprise, he discovers kindness and humanity all while planning revenge on his archenemies (pretty complicated!)
