Real Steel: Is the Sequel Happening?
Real Steel, the American sci-fi sports film, was released in 2011. Based on “Steel”, the short story penned down by Richard Matheson, the movie was a hit at the box office with the gross collection reaching up to $300 million. It was first published in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction’s May edition in 1965. Before premiering in June 2011, the film was in talks for many years.
Its story is set in the modern era where robots take the place of human boxers. Charlie, a former boxer is portrayed losing Ambush, his robot in competition with Ricky in the opening scenes of the movie. Later, Max, Charlie’s son from his demised ex, comes into the picture. He has an equal predilection for robot boxing. But the child’s maternal uncle and aunt seek his full custody on a condition that Charlie will take charge of his son for 3 months when the guardians are on a vacation. Meanwhile, Charlie gets his hands on Noisy Boy yet loses him in an underground match. This defeat leads to Charlie and Max discovering Atom in the junkyard. Atom possesses a rare shadow function and can emulate his opponent’s movements. A few improvisations in the robot’s programming makes them emerge out as a winner of several boxing competitions. Furthermore, Atom fights against Twin Cities, national champion. Following another triumph, Max pits the global champion, Zeus against Atom. After endless punches and knockouts, Atom survives for five rounds. However, wins the title of people’s champion after a close match between it and Zeus.
When is Real Steel Season 2 releasing?
It has been a decade since the premiere of Real Steel 1, yet the fans have not given up on the hopes of its return. Having said that, the director, Shawn Levy has said that a sequel is in the works for over three years. But the idea is to bring something that feels fresh from the plot point of view as well as from the characters’ angle. Seldom we have found certain scripts that match that criteria, yet Hugh and he failed to arrive at the same place at the same time. He further stated that the sequel must be out soon. Our best guess is that Real Steel will make a return by late 2022 or sometime in 2023. Hoping that the film is not postponed further and we witness another phenomenal movie soon.
What Real Steel Season 2 would be about?

Who is in the Cast for Real Steel Season 2?
Hugh Jackman would return for Season 2, reprising the role of Charlie, an ex-boxer. Yet Max, Charlie’s son, Dakota Goyo will not make a comeback for the upcoming film. The creators have not revealed much about the new characters. So it will be a pleasant surprise for us as well to know about any additions to the cast.
