Rap Sh!t season 2 has officially been renewed for a second season! Catch up on all the updates down below.
The series follows two estranged high school friends from Miami. They are Shawna (Osman) and Mia (KaMillion), who reunite to form a rap group. The show is executive produced by Rae and showrunner Syreeta Singleton. Montrel McKay for Hoorae, Jonathan Berry, and Dave Becky for 3 Arts Entertainment are also executively producing.
Rae said, “We’re so happy to play in the world of Rap Sh!t for another season with this incredibly talented team.”
Syreeta Singleton added, “This show and cast are one of a kind and I’m thrilled to get to do this again with them. We’re going bigger and harder.”

Is Rap Sh!t season 2 happening?
Yes. HBO has officially renewed Rap Sh!t for season 2. The renewal was signposted earlier this summer. Days ahead of its launch, it was awarded over $12.6M in small screen tax credits from the state of California to move the Miami-set series west for a sophomore run. The show stars Aida Osman and KaMillion, after its eight-episode first season premiered in July.

When is the release date for Rap Sh!t season two?
Though the show has been renewed, there’s no official release date for now. The makers will soon reveal the premiere date for season two. However, if we were to speculate, we expect the show to return by 2023. Because the show has recently been renewed, the year 2023 seems likely. In case any updates are made, we will post it here. Rap Sh!t ratings: Is the show worth watching?
“Rap Sh!t” was met with a positive response to critical acclaim from critics. The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported a 100% approval rating with an average rating of 7.4/10, based on 18 critical reviews.
The website’s critics’ consensus reads, “Issa Rae’s razor-sharp sensibility is fully felt in Rap Sh!t, a raucous chronicle of female camaraderie and youthful ambition.” Hence it’s definitely worth watching!
