Papushado’s Gunpowder Milkshake Gets a Release Date

After the massive success of Navot Papushado’s Big Bad Wolves, fans are awaiting its upcoming American thriller, Gunpowder Milkshake. Announced in 2018 by the Israel director, the film took a couple of years before finishing its post-production in the first half of 2021. Having said that, the film is slated for a 2021 release, as confirmed by the streaming service, Netflix via an official tweet.

Netflix has added Gunpowder Milkshake to its summer line-up of 2021. So, the movie is slated to release on 14th July of this year on the giant streaming platform. We are also expecting a theatrical release for the fans worldwide.

Gunpowder Milkshake- Plot Details

Gunpower Milkshake follows the story of three generations of female assassins. It portrays a mother-daughter duo, Scarlett and Sam who are hit-women in addition to three other females, known as The Librarians. Scarlett has to give her twelve-year-old daughter to an organization of criminals, The Firm, in the light of certain circumstances. A scene from the teaser trailer depicts a scene between a female assassin and Sam, asking the latter about Scarlett. To which Sam responds, “I have not seen her in 12 years.” Followed by another scene that portrays Scarlett weeping in a car while giving away her daughter.

Sam is actively working with the syndicate, The Firm, unless she finds out that an eight-year-old girl is held captive by the “wrong men”. Sam loses protection from the firm and chooses to protect the kid’s life with the aid of Scarlett and the Librarians. Besides the power-pack action performances, the film consists of light humor to present an invigorating storyline to its audience.

Who is in the Cast of Gunpowder Milkshake?

The film stars several eminent actresses like Karen Gillan and Lena Hedley. Karen is known for her role as Nebula in Marvel Cinematic Universe while Lena Hedley is a renowned figure for Game of THrone fans. Karen appears as Sam, an “ incredibly impressive young woman”, who is forced to be a part of a criminal syndicate at an early age. Lena will play the role of SAm’s mother, Scarlett. Besides, Chloe Coleman will appear as the kid rescued by Sam. The Librarians, a group of hitwomen, comprise Angela Bassett as Anna May, Michelle Yeoh as Florence, and Carla Gugino as Mathilde.

Paul Giamatti and Ralph Ineson are also in the cast as Nathan and Jim McAlester respectively alongside Adam Nagitis and David Burnell IV.
