Conceived by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, “Once Upon a Time” is an American romance fantasy adventure drama TV series that premiered on ABC in October 2011.
As of now, there are seven seasons of Once Upon Time. The series officially came to an end in May 2018, after the seventh and last season. The popular TV series has an overall 156 episodes throughout seven seasons with a runtime varying from about forty-three minutes.
Co-creator Kitsis and Horowitz also serve as executive producers along with Steve Pearlman, David H. Goodman, and Andrew Chambliss, while serving as producers are Damon Lindelof, Christine Boylan, Robert Hull, Kalinda Vazquez, Jane Espenson, Daniel T. Thomson, Brian Wankum, Kathy Gilroy, Ian Goldberg, Liz Tigelaar, Samantha Thomas, Jerome Schwartz, and Helga Ungurait. The series production companies are ABC Studios and Kitsis/Horowitz and are being distributed by Disney–ABC Domestic Television.
Once Upon a Time Season 8 is not Coming
It’s been over four years since the last season’s finale arrived on the screens and we all know what this means.
Sadly, there won’t be an eighth season of Once Upon a Time because the series has officially concluded with its seventh season. The series ran from October 23, 2011, and ended on May 18, 2018.
A spin-off series titled “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” comprising 13 episodes was launched on October 10, 2013, and ended on April 3, 2014.
“The goal was to send the fans home happy,” co-showrunner Edward Kitsis informs The Hollywood Reporter of the program. “It was one last adventure, so we wanted to do something that would please Oncers everywhere.”
When asked by the outlet if they have any plans to revive the show in the future, Kitsis said, “I would say we are up for someone else doing it and we look forward to seeing what that would be.”
Adam Horowitz added, “We feel like we told our story that has been very near and dear to our hearts for a very long time. This was an idea we had more than 15 years ago and we feel very happy with what we did and how we did it and, should the show continue in some form down the line, I think we’d be big fans.”
