The official Twitter handle for “Mix: Meisei Story,” the anime adaptation of Mitsuru Adachi’s manga of the same name has been officially confirmed for a second run and is said to be currently in production.

The first season of “Mix: Meisei Story” was launched in Japan in April 2019 and consisted of twenty four sides.
Streaming services like Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed the series and aired with English subtitles. Funimation also streamed the first season with English dubbing.
The official synopsis according to Crunchyroll reads:
“A new generation steps up to the plate in a moving sequel to the 1985 baseball manga, Touch. Stepbrothers Touma and Suichirou are ace players on Meisei High School’s baseball team, and thanks to them, the team may finally have a chance at returning to nationals. But little by little, a tragic legacy unfolds as the stepbrothers follow in their fathers’ footsteps.”
The manga series was published in Shogakukan’s Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine in 2012 by author Adachi.
Release Date for Season 2 of Mix: Meisei Story
The official notification from the manga disclosed that the Season Two of “Mix Meisei Story” is scheduled to be launched on April 6, 2023. So the 2nd series of the anime will once again bring back all the players to the field next spring. The new season will be available to stream online on both streaming services of Funimation and Crunchyroll.
The next season of the anime series will be directed by Odahiro Watanabe (”Soul Buster,” “Tokyo Ghoul:re”) at OLM. The series screenplay will be supervised under Atsuhiro Tomioka (”Ace Attorney” both seasons, “Inazuma Eleven,” “Pokémon XY & Z”) and other scriptwriters with Tatsuto Higuchi, Kenichi Yamada, Chinatsu Houjou, and Yoshifumi Fukushima. The characters will be designed by Takao Maki (”Basilisk: The Ouka Ninja Scrolls,” “Laughing Under the Clouds”) while the music will be composed by Norihito Sumitomo (”Dragon Ball Super,” “Dragon Ball Z Kai”).
