Because the first season of Mare Of Easttown was intended to be a stand-alone drama, the first episode ended with Winslet’s character solving the murder of young Erin McMenamin. Although the fate of perpetrator Ryan in jail may be explored in a second season, it could be more fascinating for the investigator to investigate a fresh crime. Whatever occurs, Mare will want fresh assistance since Colin Zabel (Evan Peters) was slain in the previous season.
