Made in Abyss is a tv adaptation of a manga written by Akihito Tsukushi. It debuted in July 2017 followed by a part two that was released after a five-year wait. The second installment is regarded as one of the best summer anime of 2022. The closing episodes portrayed the protagonist, Riko, and her gang, discovering the Hollow village in the depths of the abyss, and Faputa fulfilling her life purpose- to seek revenge for her mother’s suffering and ill-fate. While the season had ended many character arcs, fans have been curious about what happens after the villagers die, the village is destroyed and the immortal princess experiences new freedom and wants to discover her true purpose. Unfortunately, there are more questions than answers as of now as the anime has not been confirmed for a third outing. However, owing to the anime series’ popularity among fans, it is just a matter of time. That said, we are sad that the fans would not see the future season for a while. To know this and more about season three of Made in Abyss, read on:
Made in Abyss Season three Release date: When it might be released?
Made in Abyss is based on pre-published material i.e. a manga, which is all consumed in its prior installments. Thus, we cannot expect a third edition until there is an adequate supply of source material. Moreover, the manga is a work in progress and is unlikely to release more than one chapter in a year. Taking into account all the above, Made in Abyss has gone into a definite hiatus as of now. Though it is speculated that the anime might return by 2024. However, presently, we have no definite release timeline to look at. But fingers crossed for an S3.
Made in Abyss Season 3 Plotline: What might it be like?
The last season saw Fatpura destroying Iruburu with the Hollows agreeing to sacrifice themselves for a bigger good. Their sacrifice helped the princess in defeating the monsters that emerged from the deepest layers of the Abyss. Viewers understand that no one can take the journey to the Abyss without incurring huge sacrifices and losses. The group, Riko, Reg, and Nanachi managed to escape the Ganja Corps, giving the fans a vague idea about what dangers might lie ahead of them. It is fair to assume that season three will get dark as the group is geared up to journey to the center of the abyss. With that, it seems that part third will unravel the greatest secrets and discoveries of the gang.
The finale episode has set up a potential third season that can go in several directions based on where the original author wants us to go.
