Made in Abyss Season 2: Release Date

The first season of this series premiered on July 7, 2017, and the finale took place on September 29, 2017. It encompassed a total of 13 episodes with an average watch time of 18-25 mins each. Last year in May, it was announced from the official Twitter handle of Made in Abyss that season 2 will be released in 2022.

Recently, through a tweet, the composer of the series, Kevin Penkin, released the official title of the show which would be ‘The Sun Blaze Upon The Golden City’. As soon as we get any information related to the release date of the show, we’ll keep you guys posted.

Made in Abyss Season 2: Cast And Crew

Anime series is considered a storehouse of the uninitiated; it is considered foolish to say anything concrete about the upcoming season. But as the finale of the last season happened, we can definitely see some faces (the 3 most important characters of the series): Riko, Nachi and Reg. Apart from these, we also have Miyu Tomita, Shiori Izawa, and Mariya Ise as their VAs. Furthermore, this time the production crew is returning along with their entire team after the massive success of Season 1. 

This year we may also see the arrival of some new faces in the series as side/supporting roles. The characters are Misaki Kuno, Yuka Terasaki, Hiroaki Hirata, and Mitsuki Saiga, debuting as Faputa, Vueko, Wazukyan, and many more which are not yet revealed by the creators. We might also witness a lot of reverses in the crew as well – Season 1’s prop designer Takeshi Takakura is now the designer head, and Takumi Sakura is hired as a prop designer for the upcoming season. 

We might see some new faces being added to the team of designers like Yuke Kurpada and Teru Sekiguchi as character designers followed by Kadokawa joining as a collaborative effort for music production.

Made in Abyss Season 2: Plot

As we saw in the last season, the entire show revolves around Riko, a young orphan girl in a fictional place. Riko lives in an orphanage, named Becharo Orphanage, which is located in a small town called Orth. We see in this story how that little girl goes underneath the ground, putting her life at risk and goes in search of artifacts and priceless gems. It is easy to get in, but it is equally difficult to get out. Consequently, we will deduce how Riko got out of that cave.
