The audience was first introduced to Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road as a renegade Imperator who is being led by Immortan Joe. However, Furiosa sets herself on a mission of liberating Joe’s concubines and further join hands with Max Rockatansky. Charlize Theron leads the cast as Furiosa whereas Hugh Keays-Byrne and Rock Atansky play Joe and Max respectively. IN the film, the characters’ backstories are not unveiling entirely.

Mad Max: Furiosa Release date
As per speculations, it was previously stated that Furiosa will take a year or two till it arrives on the screen. Well, it looks like the speculation was somewhat accurate. The prequel was previously set to premiere on June 23, 2023, but had to be pushed back.
Warner Bros has set a new release date, the prequel is expected to premiere on May 24, 2024. Let’s hope that it doesn’t get pushed back again.

The Cast of Mad Max: Furiosa
Sadly, the Furiosa you have known in Mad Max: Fury Road is not returning for the prequel. Filmmakers have signed off Anya Taylor-Joy to portray the protagonist’s younger version. Anya gained popularity after her role in Netflix’s original, THe Queen Gambit. Taylor is also a part of projects like Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho and Robert Egger’s The Northman. The young star was thrilled to be cast in the prequel.
“I was amazed by this incredible mind of George Miller. It’s difficult to put into words,” Taylor-Joy expresses of the movie. “I feel so humbled and grateful. I think the first thing I thought was ‘I am so excited to work so hard.’ The level of commitment that has been shown by those who came before me, I endeavor to match that. That makes me really excited. I have so much respect for the originators of this crazy world and this collection of characters. I am excited to work really hard.”
In addition, Chris Hemsworth who is popularly known as Thor in Marvel Cinematic Universe will be a new face in Furiosa. Chris has also played a significant part in Extraction and Bad Times at EI Royale. HBO’s Watchmen fame, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is all set to appear in the upcoming film Mad Max. Their roles are still a mystery to us, but we expect them to spell magic to their characters.
Mad Max: Furiosa Plot Twist
It is no surprise that Max Mad- Furiosa will follow the early life of Furiosa in what is called “Green Place.” It shall unfold a detailed set of events that made her the fierce warrior of all time. The plot thread will also include her encounter with warrior women referred to as Valucini. Later, the warrior was abducted from the group as a young child, since then, she is making her way to her ideal childhood hometown.
