Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile was first published in 1965; the revered children’s storybook follows the crocodile, which resides in East 88th Street in NYC. 

 

The reptile, whose name is Lyle, loves assisting the Primm family with daily tasks and having fun with the neighbourhood children. Lyle is the gladdest reptile anyone could ever ask for; That is until one day, one of the neighbours contends that the crocodile ought to be in a zoo. Mr. Grumps and his feline named Loretta dislike crocodiles, and to win them over, Lyle tries his hardest, but it only worsens every time. The Cast and Crew of Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile 

Will Speck and Josh Gordon will helm Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile and will also serve as producers along with Hutch Parker. Dan Wilson and Kevin K. Vafi are the executive producers for Hutch Parker Ent and Speck & Gordon, respectively. Meanwhile, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the Oscar-winner music composing group behind the melody of Dear Evan Hasen and La La Land, are composing original musics for the picture and both are also serving as executive producers. Brittany Morrissey will be supervising the project for the much anticipated flick.

 

As for the cast, several roles are still being cast for the shoot in Georgia, encompassing a few actors, image doubles, and stand-ins reported by projectcasting.com reports. Whereas another site called thesoutherncastingcall.com noted that some background actors are also wanted to characterize high schoolers.

 

For the main cast, it is reported that Lyric Hurd is set to join Speck and Gordon’s Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, along with Constance Wu, Winslow Fegley, and Javier Bardem. Aside from this cast lineup, it’s not confirmed if there’ll be more new cast that will join since there’s no update about it, but once the filming gets underway, more updates will be out.

Presently, the filming is not yet kicked off. However, according to the Georgia Film Office, it was stated that filming will soon commence in the Atlanta region.

 

Will Davis is tailoring the upcoming film’s script. The upcoming film is based on a popular children’s storybook and one of the bestsellers written by Bernard Waber.

 

It’s worth noting that this is not the first time Bernard Waber’s capricious children’s storybook has been adapted into a musical flick. In the late 1980s, HBO adapted the story into an animated version with a musical theme titled “Lyle Lyle, Crocodile: The Musical” that lasted 25 minutes.
