Sony Music Entertainment has revealed its collaboration with Leo Messi Management SL to produce an animated TV show depicting the life of soccer star Lionel Messi. The show aims to target children and young adults while the company intends to incorporate original music from its artists and composers. The series is set to be an engaging and exciting portrayal of the soccer superstar’s life, reflecting his legacy and contribution to the sport. Sony Music Entertainment’s partnership with Leo Messi Management SL shows their keen interest in expanding into the entertainment industry beyond music.
The Animated Series Will be Available in Multiple Languages
The series will be developed in English, Spanish and other languages with original music from Sony Music’s talented artists and composers. The division will handle both the development and distribution of the series. Currently, the show has not been attached to any network or streaming service.
Lionel Messi (the Argentine soccer captain) expressed his excitement for the animated series in a statement released with the announcement. He shared his childhood love for animated series and his joy in being able to participate in a project that fulfills one of his dreams. He also expressed gratitude towards Sony Music for partnering with him and hoped that the result of their collaboration would be well-received, especially among children.
“Since I was a kid, I’ve always loved animated series and my kids are big fans of animated characters. Being able to participate in an animation project makes me happy, because it fulfills one of my dreams. Considered by many as the greatest player in the history of soccer, Lionel Messi is one of the most accomplished players in the sport. The Paris Saint Germain striker has won an unmatched seven Ballon D’Or awards, seven FIFA Best Player awards, six Golden Boots, four Champions League trophies, ten La Liga titles, one Ligue 1 title and numerous other individual and team honors.
When is it Releasing?
As of now, no release date has been provided for Lionel Messi’s animated series but it is expected to take at least a year or two to make its way to our screens.
On the other hand, Sony Music Entertainment is primarily known as a record label but has also produced podcasts and documentaries such as “Pearl Jam 20,” “Oasis Knebworth 20,” “Springsteen E Street Band,” and Showtime’s “Cypress Hill doc Insane in the Brain.” However, the animated series about Lionel Messi’s life marks Sony Music Entertainment’s first venture into animation.
