Kindred season 2 has officially been cancelled!
The series has officially been cancelled, and nah, there are no chances of it being renewed. Even Deadline reports that FX “is known for carefully curating its slate and taking time to develop projects, sometimes redoing a pilot, and most of its shows stick around for a while.”
Is this the end of the series? Considering showrunner Branden Jacobs-Jenkins already has plans for a season 2, it’s likely that he will provide us with some updates.
Speaking with Esquire in December, Jacobs-Jenkins said, “The writers and I are working very hard on the plans for Season Two. We have a lot planned for Season Two, Season Three, and Season Four… I always encourage people to read the book, though if you don’t want to spoil it for yourself, definitely don’t keep reading. But yes, there are plans for season two. Big dreams.”

What is the series “Kindred” about?
Kindred is Butler’s forth and best-known novel. The series features a black woman named Dana. She finds herself being transported back in time violently. Being enslaved to her ancestors, Dana goes back in time to the antebellum plantation. Every time our girl tries to pinball through the past and present, her stay at the plantation gets longer and longer – and, more dangerous! It forced her to confront the gruesome legacies of white supremacy, misogynoir, and slavery. The plot is damn interesting though.
If Kindred season 2 happens, how many episodes could there be?
Don’t get your hopes too high guys (silent cries) because what if the “if” stays as is. Anyway, “if” the series gets a renewal for the second season, we may expect a similar number of episodes as season 1. Kindred season 2 may comprise 8 episodes.
