As of now, it’s unclear whether Netflix will greenlight The Pentaverate for another season run since no official announcement has been made. The show made its debut on May 25, 2022, on Netflix consisting of six episodes.
Nonetheless, the show was conceived and produced as a miniseries for Netflix and it’s highly unlikely for The Pentaverate to return with a new season. It’s mainly because the show’s performance was poorly received.
Well, things could have proceeded well and fans wouldn’t have to worry about the chances of the series coming back with season 2 as the chances could have been high if the six-episode debut season was a success but in this case, the prospect of the show only seems to be diminishing.
Why Season 2 of The Pentaverate Won’t Happen?
Looking back at all the giant streamer’s promotions for The Pentaverate, it was apparent that the show was a limited series back when it was still in preparation. In June 2021, Deadline referred to the show as a “half-hour comedy limited series”.
Not to forget, a big confusion was caused as Netflix labeled the show as “Season 1” instead of “Limited series” as several other miniseries do on the platform. DigitalSpy also appeared to believe that “there are at least plans for the story to continue” but it looks like that isn’t the case.
To put it, we are still not sure what Netflix will decide but for now, let’s wait for an official announcement in the coming months.
Ratings and Viewership: Did The Pentaverate Perform Well?
Unfortunately, the show did not do a good job on Netflix.
It was evidently missing from the global top 10 ranking list launched by the streamer for achievement between 2 to 8 May 2022 indicating that it’s marked below 10.80 million hours watched. Many called it as a “bomb” as it didn’t do well in terms of ratings and viewership.
However, when it comes to reviews, the reactions are somewhat mixed.
The scores given by critics were brutal. It is presently scored at just 21 percent on Rotten Tomatoes but the scores given by the audience are far better. It carries a 61 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Taking into account the ratings, it’s unlikely that season 2 will happen.

Takeaway
The renewal announcement is still yet to take place, however, we can not be too hopeful about it since this show is a limited series, and moreover, the performance wasn’t the best either. It’s uncertain for The Pentaverate to return with new episodes. The chances of the show returning seem to be extremely low.
