6 weeks of (fake) blood, sweat, and tears, and now he’s mine all mine once again. 😀 So proud @patrickwilson73 directed a movie, (and killed it, no pun intended) but man oh man we sure have missed him… #thatsawrap pic.twitter.com/KX7qX4aGjg

The actor and his loved ones have plenty to commemorate with filming finally wrapped on Insidious chapter 5. The horror movie will mark Wilson’s debut as a director; after being in front of the cameras for many years, the actor chose to make his comeback to the franchise by making it more special as he steps behind the camera.
Launched in 2010, the first movie of the horror series was helmed by James Wan and Pen by Leigh Whannell starring Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Ty Simpkins, and Andrew Astor popularly known as the Lamberts or the Lambert family, who gets haunted by evil spirits from another realm that is being called “The Further” when their only son Dalton falls into a comatose state. The first two movies focus on The Lamberts before the horror universe shifted to prequels and spinoffs for the 3rd and 4th parts of the movies. Although all the three original cast members Wilson, Byrne, and Simpkins made short cameos in the 4th movie titled ‘Insidious: The Last Key’.
The Wait is Almost Over!
Yes, we do know that The Lamberts are set to return for the much anticipated Insidious 5 with all of the four original cast members. As of now, the specific story details of the upcoming sequel have not been revealed yet but it’s been reported that the story will continue with Lambert’s family as they prepare to dispatch their son Dalton off to university. Yep! The little boy is all grown up. Fans were worried that they might never get to see The Lamberts in another part of the movie again but it’d be so wrong to not have the Lamberts family resume the story as they play a vital role.
The upcoming Insidious 5 is being produced by Wan along with Jason Blum and Whannell. Wan also directed the previous two films. The movie’s script is penned by Scott Teems (Halloween Kills) alongside Whannell, who also wrote all the previous movies in the franchise, obtaining a tale by credit.
Insidious 5 is slated to hit the big screens on July 7, 2023.
