Recently, Warner Bros. showed the first trailer for the fantasy “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.” Breathtaking emotions, unexpected plot twists, and a stunning storyline will amaze even those who are used to playing the most elaborate Woo Casino games. Here’s what you should know about the movie, which will be released in April 2022.
What We Know About the Plot
Albus Dumbledore discovers that the powerful dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald wants to seize control of the wizarding world and wage war on the Muggles. Albus cannot stop him alone and asks Newt Scamander to lead a team to save the world. Wizards, witches, and one brave Muggle baker embark on a dangerous mission that will see old and new creatures and battle a legion of Grindelwald followers. However, it remains a mystery why Dumbledore himself remains aloof from the conflict when the stakes are so high.
Dumbledore’s Secrets
“If you listen closely, you can hear the whispers of the past,” Albus Dumbledore says at the beginning of the movie. From the title and the trailer, it seems that audiences will indeed be privy to secrets from the life of the future director of Hogwarts.
From past movies, we know two important things. First, Dumbledore can’t get into a fight with his former friend Grindelwald because of a blood oath he took as a teenager. Second, Credence Barebone turns out to be another brother of Albus named Aurelius. Warner assures that fans will be able to get to know the complex and mysterious Dumbledore for the first time.
Key Characters
Already familiar characters will come out to fight Grindelwald: Newt Scamander, his indispensable assistant Bunty, his brother Theseus Scamander, French wizard Yusuf Kama, professor Eulalie “Lally” Hicks, and Jacob Kowalski, who is even trusted with a wand.
But American wizard Tina Goldstein is absent from the trailer (though Katherine Waterston appears in the cast). But her sister Quinnie Goldstein, who switched sides with Grindelwald in the previous film, is still in love with Muggle Jacob and plays an important role in his adventures, judging by the trailer.
The Danish Grindelwald
The world’s most dangerous wizard is now played by Danish-born Mads Mikkelsen. Last year, Warner Bros. studio fired Johnny Depp from the third part after the actor lost his lawsuit with The Sun. Depp accused the publication of defamation for a piece that said he had beaten his ex-wife Amber Heard.
Return to Hogwarts
Hogwarts returns to screens. Apparently, its students were already playing Quidditch in the 1930s when the threequel takes place!
The small village of Hogsmeade, not far from Hogwarts, will appear in the film. It’s the only village in the UK that is completely Muggle-free. It is probably the home of Aberforth Dumbledore, the younger brother of Albus Dumbledore and owner of The Boar’s Head Tavern. The elderly Aberforth has already been glimpsed in The Order of the Phoenix and in the second Deathly Hallows. In the movie, the character is played by Richard Coyle, Faustus Blackwood, director of the Academy of the Invisible Sciences from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Also, don’t miss the famous Hogwarts Express! Jacob Kowalski is the first Muggle to get on this train.
Room of Requirement
In the trailer, the heroes use the Room of Requirement, an enchanted room on the eighth floor of Hogwarts School. The room supplies its guests with everything they need except food and potions. In the Room of Requirement, Harry Potter taught spells to the members of Dumbledore’s Squad in The Order of the Phoenix and hid after his duel with Draco Malfoy in The Half-Blood Prince.
Magic Vial
The vial that Dumbledore studies contains blood, a symbol of the oath that prevents the wizard from fighting Grindelwald. In the finale of the previous part, the sniffer steals the vial from Grindelwald and brings it to Newt, who takes it to Dumbledore at Hogwarts. It is worth assuming that Albus will try to destroy what binds him.
