A few years have passed since the Guardians of Galaxy Vol. 2 film, and while we’ve seen the franchise heroes team up with their fellow Avengers in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, anticipation for the third film in the franchise, Guardians of Galaxy Vol. 3, is at an all-time high.
The American action, adventure and sci-fi thriller is directed and written by James Gunn along with Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning as co-writers.
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Thor: Love and Thunder, and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Avengers: Endgame, are all sequels to this film. The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Four will be represented by this film.
James Gunn is the first director to complete a Marvel Cinematic Universe trilogy because the third film is set after Avengers: Endgame, the climax of that film hints that Nebula and Thor will be welcomed to the team.
The previous movies of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise did a decent job at the box office. The first movie collected a staggering $773 million followed by the second movie with $863 million worldwide respectively.
