Goblin Slayer Season 2 is a highly anticipated Japanese animated series directed by Takaharu Ozaki. 

 

When the first season of Goblin Slayer premiered in 2018, it became one of the most popular anime series that same year. It also managed to be one of the most-streamed series on Crunchyroll (a popular streaming site for anime). Fans loved this anime for its dark theme and twisted storyline that was quite different from other anime that got released during that year. 

 

After delivering such an incredible season, it is natural for fans around the world to demand another season of Goblin Slayer. Is it going to happen though? Well, let’s find out. 

 

Almost two years after the debut season in 2018, it was formally declared on January 31, 2021, during the GA Bunko fifteen-anniversary celebrations that the anime series is returning with a second season run. Now here arises a question, when is it going to be released? Before we answer this, let’s delve into details. 

What We Know So Far About Goblin Slayer

Goblin Slayer or Goburin Sueriya in Japanese is based on a popular LN of the exact name that was first distributed in 2016. The LN series was penned and illustrated by Kumo Kagyu and Noboru Kannatsuki respectively. 

 

The anime series falls under the genre of dark fantasy loved by many people globally. The story revolves around a solo adventurer who is known as Goblin Slayer. His main objective is to completely eradicate the goblins and create a safe environment for people. 

 

So far, Goblin Slayer has a single season comprising 12 episodes along with a movie titled “Goblin Slater: Goblin’s Crown” released on February 1,  2020. The movie and anime series was both directed by Takaharu Ozaki and animated by White Fox studio. 

Will There Be a Second Season of Goblin Slayer?

Yes, it was confirmed in January 2021 that the next season of Goblin slayer is in the works. However, it is not revealed how many episodes will feature in the upcoming season. It’s also possible that just like the first season, the next series will have the same number of episodes. 

Goblin Slayer Season 2 Release Date: When is it? 

As of now, the official release date for the second season of Goblin Slater is not provided yet. However, the next season is currently in production which means that fans should expect it to arrive sometime in 2022. 

 

Other than that,  GA Bunko has yet to provide when the next season of Goblin Slayer will be aired although one should expect an official announcement by the end of the year. Till then, we will have to wait patiently as they will let us know officially about the release date and many more about the next season. 

 

However, if we have to assume, it’s most likely that the second season will be out by January or by April 2022. That’s all we have for now but as we’ve mentioned, expect an announcement from the makers soon.

Goblin Slayer Season 2 Voice Cast & Characters

In addition to that, we might also see the other supporting characters and who knows some new characters will also be introduced in the upcoming season.

Goblin Slayer Season 2 Plot: What to Expect?

Presently, there are about 15 LN volumes of Goblin Slayer launched. As of 2021, the LN series of Goblin Slayer is still continuing. And so far, the anime series has wrapped volumes 1 and 2 of LN while the movie which was released in 2020 wrapped vol. 5. The first season ended with vol. 3 as an opening for the second season. Fans should also know by now that the story is far from over. It’s highly expected that the second season of Goblin Slayer will cover three volumes that will be vol. 3, 4 and 6 of the LN. 

 

With about 15 LN volumes already released, Goblin Slayer will have to work on launching two or more seasons if they plan to cover the whole LN series but it all depends on White Fox studio.
